Spilled coffee over a teleporter, you say? That's startingly similar to how the apocalypse happened in the webcomic "Romantically Apocalyptic" ( romanticallyapocalyptic.com/ ) where Zee Captain (gender unknown, wears a gas mask, wink wink) "spilled" (read: poured) coffee over the server banks of what is basically self-aware google, causing it to go absolutely haywire, which basically causes the nuclear apocalypse.
Coffee has a lot to answer for. At least this time it only brought over a band of AU Pyros. ._.'
