This reminds me of Dr. Frye from the Immortal Hulk #2; a man so afraid of death, that he became death!

Is it because Marvel replaced him with a trying-to-be-hip-with-today’s-kids character?

No I just don't get around to reading many comics Which is kind of ironic since my degree is in sequential art haha..but yeah haven't read too many comics over the last few years.

You know, I understand. Despite my love for superheroes, I don’t read too much comics. I usually get my superhero knowledge from games, cartoons, movies, and the internet.

I have that and a bunch of friends who are very deep into comics culture and stories, so if I have any questions I can always ask them for clarification on things. But yeah, I have a feeling that the stories themselves have in a way transcended the medium, where the tales located within the vaults of comic books are now intermingling with a lot of other means of consumption, so even if we don't read a specific comic oftentimes we can still glean the gist of the story or character.

Yeah, it’s like these comic book characters are becoming the modern day equivalents of Greek Mythology.

Which I kinda think they always were, or at least there was some kind of allegorical intent built into their designs. It's just now, more than ever, the mythologies are becoming more readily available and digestible for those who didn't know they were there. Cool stuff

very good, I don't know if you have done this consciouslyΒ but the fact that the guy is smaller than the suit gives a strange feel to the illustration, the detail of the helmet is really good, I really like the light inside of it!

I was discussing this with someone, how his neck and spine are actually stretched out; initially when he donned the suit his head was much lower but over the years his bones of become more gelatinous, his body slowly transforming into a goo. Β He doesn't feel any pain but is conscious and aware that he isn't the same as when he first entered the prison thousands of years ago

wow, but there is a little error of logic, (in any case, before, let me say that is very charming your explanation) but if is as you tell, it's more strange, I mean, if his head was lower, this means that the suit wasn't good for him in the beginning...and it's quite strange think that this guy has been many years inside a suit bigger than him (bigger enough for dont reach the helmet glass part and in this way see where he was)..so. maybe is more funny think that the transormation has happened instantly when he dressed the suit as an instantly lamarckian evolution process (maybe unconscius...hehehe, ok is enough for a simple nerd chat XD, I hope to don't bore you with my doubt.
In any case great job as ever!

That's correct, the suit was never a good fit for him Β It is very rare that what we seek is truly a perfect fit for us, in this case he sought immortality and found it, but it wasn't meant for him. Β As soon as he entered the suit it sealed and the plasma immobilized him. Β He had his immortality but at a cost of slowly, very slowly losing his physical composition over thousands of years.

His nose falling off is just icing on the cake, so to speak haha
