Description
Redesigning/revisiting the villain from Aladdin, I wanted to have his flesh be a bit more serpentine or reptilian, but sans heavy scales initially. His skin is starting to slough off as he manifests more magic, revealing something much more sinister beneath.Was a lot of fun, got to play with some fun brushes in new ways

He looks much more frightening here, where his outside is reflecting the inside more literally. The colors are really interesting and the magic turned out very well. The only thing my eye hits on that feels odd is how peaceful and almost sad his expression is. He looks wistful to me, which I'm not sure suggests Jafar's personality correctly by the Disney canon anyway. Overall, it's an awesome redesign with really great details and texture!

Thanks! I'm glad I went with this, had a very different one going in and then I scrapped it and went with this instead. But yeah he's far less theatrical in this, I wanted to give him a less inviting presence. Not that the original Jafar is someone you wanna have a beer with, but his maniacal craziness defined him clearly and I wanted it to be less so with this one; like you knew he was evil but didn't know exactly to what ends.
