Been busy with non-raster work this week and last, just making maps and item tables heh, but this was for a weekly theme for an art group I'm a part of on Facebook (#DailyDoodle, for those interested ^_^) which I never got to upload for various reasons. All good, better late than never, right? ^_^

Nothing spectacular, just a skull-like jellyfish of sorts with bone tentacles built from a couple sketches then cloned/adjusted with blending modes in Photoshop CS6. My favorite texture to use in general are photos of clouds taken at sunset, it gives a rich texture variety (clouds!) but also some base color to play around with for inversion, hue adjustment, blending mode adjustments, etc.. Take pictures of everything! You never know when you can use it for your next digital piece lol.

Probably won't use this for Elthinia, but I did some overlaying of this into various combat backgrounds and it's supercreepy seeing tentacles just popping up in a sunset heh; it's probably the scale of it, too, in the far away background it would make this thing monstrously huge, as is it's only supposed to be a few meters long ^_^
