It would be an interesting shift in dynamics, the main character, the supposed hero introduced in episode 7 turns to the Dark Side and instead of defeating evil, she joins it; visually from the movie poster, her staff aligns with Ben's saber and she faces in the same direction, too, a possible allusion to future events. Β Maybe when Han touched Ben's face as he fell instilled the seed of returning to the Light and he redeems himself in an hour of darkness, echoing what Vader did in ROTJ.
(honestly I can't see her turning, I mean haha she's become quite a role model for little girls I can't see Disney bringing all that down. This was just an exercise in "what if..." territory heh)

It would have been better if Kylo Ren was redeemed on the bridge, choosing the Light Side. Rey, drunk on her new powers, could have killed him and became the new apprentice of Snoke. This would have resulted in an interesting rivalry between her and Finn as the series progressed.
