Description
Step-by-step for various fur types. I will be doing more of these on my Patreon , and the future ones will come with descriptions to help explain the process
This one is pretty straight-forward - basically start off with a big brush, and then gradually make the brush smaller as you work in the details. The last step is to adjust contrast and sharpen

Also, don't worry about how long it took or the analogy x3 it was a good one. Also, I DID try this haha and it didn't look too terribly bad. I think for a first try at fur, it was pretty awesome. But anyhow, thank you for replying ;w; I seriously do love your art. It's amazing.

I'm working on my anatomy right now. Β ^^ I'm not going to attempt painting fur until my anatomy is good again (I had a four-year lapse in my drawing that really rustified my skills) and I'm decent at shading/highlighting again. Eventually, I'll try fur, but I think my basics need to be good first

This is amasing! I have been staying away from painting animals with fur because I just didn't have the technique. Now I will definitely try to paint a wolf or maybe a bear in the near future. You are awesome.Β Β

Do you basically just keep refining with lights and darks and smaller brush sizes as you go along? ;O;

Pretty much, yes. Just keep layering on top of the base strands with smaller and smaller strands while adding bits of colour and lights/darks
