Yes. So, to commit adultery you have to be married. Otherwise Jesus would have said "fornication" - I have to assume that The Son of God chose his words correctly and accurately.
I read the King James version; the New International Version edits and changes a lot. Of course, so did the KJ.

I've never seen a single dictionary where "adultery" does not involve marriage. I have a friend who's an Ahramaic scholar; I'll ask her - I know she's read The Bible in the original and she'll know.
Again, every dictionary I've seen defines "fornication" as sex between unmarried people.
Perhaps you should review the relevant passage(s).

I got the "lust" part. He said that if you look with lust, you're committing the sin of "adultery" -- which is having sex with someone other than your spouse. Can you explain to me how someone who is unmarried can have sex with someone other than their spouse??

So, here's the fun part. I talked to my friend, the biblical scholar. She checked the greek texts that she had, which translate into "adultery" in the KJ and INT and the ancient greek word was "moicheia" (without the greek fonts) The greeks did not have separate words for "adultery" and "fornication" So in a sense what we've been talking about is irrelevant. But that makes it even more interesting, to me, since it just shows that modern day christians are staking their nudity taboos on something jesus allegedly said and they don't even know what it was that he said.
