Description
So, the original plan was to wait with this game because they'll probably release a lot of DLCs for it and then a complete edition, like with previous games.BUT
when I read that there is no level cap, and you won't stop getting xp like in Dragon Age: Inquisition, I just had to have it
I mean, infinite leveling?? Access to ALL the perks in one playthrough?? This is madness!!!
lol
The game is massive, I'm glad I got it during my winter vacation because even simple quests can get quite time consuming when you want to explore thoroughly. Now that they added settlements and crafting, it's worth to actually pick up all that collectable junk
The character editor isn't perfect (like in DA: Inquisition
So, this is my character, his name is Rój (pronounced "Rosh"), he's currently lvl 28, and after traveling for some time with Dogmeat, he's now romantically involved with Piper
The ghouls are definately my favourite enemies so far. When I first encountered them, I thought I'm in a The Walking Dead game
So what about you? Any of you playing the game or planning on getting it? Share your experiences!

I'm playing with a female character, ammo was a real problem at the beginning, but now (with a perk I don't remember the name), I can found much more. At LVL 20, I still having tough battles against enemies like Supermutants (Swan or Behemoth? Not yet), but those who come from the ground are the worst, like moles, ghouls and radscorpions. Favorite travel companion: Codsworth (slice enemies is so easy...), but now I'm with Piper.
And building is taking most time than exploring... Almost done with my nice fortress at Tenpines Bluff.

That'll be the Hoarder perk, no?
I got it as a christmas present from one of my friends and man - SOOOO - much to do, find, build, try.
The one thing I noticed is that enemies do scale with your level. Where my (I was lucky finding it on a Legendary Mole Rat) Plasma Infused 10mm was enough to make quick work with many enemies at the start of the game now I got an Advanced Receiver, extended clip and about 600 shots of ammo before I leave any settlement. And it's hard to kill even the some basic Raiders since they started wearing combat armor!
...well, nice supply of that for my settlers and most guard posts have a fully combat armored settler with some kind of rifle but still: having to spend some 20 shots on a single enemy is a time sink.

I'm not too far into the main story -dang sidequests keep distracting me- but could it be that final explosion is thanks to the nukes from the Yangtze submarine?
Or are these "just for fun"?

I didn't find the submarine yet, good place to go I guess, I'll try it later.

It's located roughly between the Minuteman Fort and the docking site of the Prydwen. Just swim across the bay and you can't miss it.

Oh the Fallout Series is spectacular! I remember learning about it from friends, at first I thought "I'll never play it" but one day I got super bored with all the games I have, and its now ended me in a life long love with the Fallout games lol. I've played all of Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas through a number of times now and I've done a ton of the quests and discovered lots of rare items but there are still so much to discover even now.
I ended up getting Fallout 4 on the opening day for a bargain $68 compared to everywhere else that was selling it at like +$89. My character is level 42 atm and I am loving the game, I haven't finished the main quest yet but that is cause I am getting side tracked by everything else like settlements and the side quests xD The game is huge and I don't think I'll finish it anytime soon like Fallout 3 and New Vegas It's going to be epic to see some DLC for it and eventually what mods people can cook up for the game on www.nexusmods.com I'm hoping for tons of cool stuff like total environment re-texturing and greater character customization mods.

I'll grab it sometime soon. Just got to figure out when I'd actually have time to play it.
Love your wooden pistol. Though I'm guessing it's bark is worse than it's bite?

I've been playing this game from launch and this game is awesome! Yeah no level cap is pretty cool but it's still going to take a long time to get every perk, I'm about lvl 65 and still nowhere close to getting every perk. But my favorite thing is the redesign of the power armor, now it's a suit you can get in and out instead of just another piece of clothing.

I'm so glad you can make a an attractive male character in fallout 4, I only ever played New Vegas and 3 as female. Four out of five of my New Vegas play throughs as a female NCR character.

Coccineus In reply to Red-Riley [2015-12-21 21:13:16 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, I did most prior game playthroughs as a woman too, because the male character models looked so insignificant
I could never really warm up to any of the factions in New Veags, so I only did them for the trophies. On my main playthrough where I explored the most I was always on my own side

Yep, been playing it pretty hard since I finished school last week.
Building settlements is by far my most fav thing to do.
I've got some must have mods too, if you're interested.
They make things just a lot more enjoyable that the developers clearly overlooked.

Nah, I'm a console gamer. I only ever used mods on Morrowind, and it felt so game breaking I'm glad mods aren't possible on consoles. I understand many people like them, but I rather play a game as intended by the developer

brokencasanova In reply to Coccineus [2015-12-22 01:28:05 +0000 UTC]
Well, let me put it this way.
Currently, there's no way to send settlers away from your settlement.
You can only recruit. Never dismiss. That's "as intended"
Personally, I find that retarded, and would easily use a mod that allowed me the freedom to dismiss unneeded settlers.

brokencasanova In reply to Coccineus [2015-12-22 23:16:04 +0000 UTC]
Not all settlements have the ability to sustain a large amount of settlers, but the doesn't stop them from coming to the settlement if you leave the recruitment beacon up.

Isn't your charisma points also a factor on how many settlers you can have?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
brokencasanova In reply to Coccineus [2015-12-23 22:21:24 +0000 UTC]
Not sure about that. Don't think stats affect settlement values though. Could be wrong.
I started with maxed Charisma and have capped some of the larger settlements even though I would have liked to have had more of them there, so there's definitely a limit.

I played a game and made a Character named Carlos. Don't remember it's level but I trying to make as many settlements as I can. it's worth the network since you can repair your power armor easier in the long run. Just dump loot in the nearest town in the network and you're good as new as you also have the reserves from your mayor settlement (and the power to make more servo-armor stations, should you make your choises right).
And GURL, even after 90 hrs, there's still something new to do in Fallout 4. There's no end of it. Gotta keep looting that scrap.
Yep, the game definetively feels more action oriented, now with the bullet-time aproach to the V.A.T.S and all the advanced A.I that makes you think twice and fast every encounter.

Coccineus In reply to Xabring [2015-12-21 18:17:51 +0000 UTC]
I'm trying to play the game without using the power armor
For an extra challenge? Maybe. But mainly because I can't see my handsome character underneath it
I've invested about 94 hours into Dragon Age: Inquisition, and it feels like Fallout 4 is three times as big, if not more... so I'll probably hit the 300-hour mark like with Fallout 3
