The smoke looks like trees, as if the village is a forest too but just with smoke trees.
Just some small thing, how about reducing the textures on the houses, I had problems seeing the houses and I think the strong textures on them distract from the girl and bear.

you know, when i showed it to my boyfriend over his computer he pointed out the same thing, that he could hardly see the houses..
does it look better now? i did a slight correction, i do want them to blend on the background but not to be completely invisible
