As far as Grunty's being "nice" after her makover, I don't think Mumbo Jumbo was referring to her transformation including a personality change. More likely, he wanted to see one of her "scary stripteases" and was flattering her. After all, Klungo and Mumbo aren't blind. Her plan was that "guys will come running" after she overtakes everyone as most gorgeous and it doesn't take long for those characters how gorgeous she is.

Cool pic, favorited! As she not-so-modestly said in third-person "Grunty's cute, she's quite a dame" and there are about 200,000 who watched the scene on Youtube who would concur.
