"Ah... Argh..."
Rin groans as she limps her way inside of a cave that's a bit close back to home and the cabin.
They finally lost track of the Terribeast after many, many attempts.

Paloma slides off the back of the grey Wyngro as she sits herself down, finally getting an actual chance to properly rest up and not deal with anymore interruptions. She was scratched up pretty bad this time. That Beast just didn't know when to quit. It really wanted both of them dead and gone. Thankfully they managed to keep the Terribeast off of their trail for good this time.
Breathing in and out to ease her thoughts, Rin conjures up a small flame to shed a little bit of light inside the dark cave. The light of the flame glistens off of the scar on her face and the new one she received on the side of her neck.

"Rin? Are you going to be alright?" Paloma asks worriedly. Rin has been through too much just trying to keep the Beast away from Paloma. And to make things worse she's badly injured and even obtained a couple of scars because of the dominant and territorial creature. Paloma can't help but feel that this was her fault that Rin got dragged into all of this. But this was beyond anyone's control. None of this could've been predicted.
"I'll make it, little sister..." Rin responds, despite the sound of her voice indicated that she was in a lot of pain.

Paloma looks down at her feet, having another flashback to when the Beast spotted them.
The sheer amount of horror and fear was very real to both her and Rin... The Beast immediately pounced at them but Rin was quick enough to evade it. She placed Paloma down and distance her away from herself and the Beast.
Rin was going to pull the same attempt she did last time that managed to keep the Beast busy. Which, now that she takes a good look at the Terribeast, didn't seem to do a thing given it doesn't possess any burnt marks on its face. If this thing is extremely resistant to fire, then this is what one would call a "Spawned Demon."

She was able to conjure another flame around the same size as the last one. Before she could even launch it at the Beast it tried to slash at her again. Rin jumped back but one claw still made contact causing a big scratch on the side of her neck. The mark wasn't as deep as the one on her face but it still hurt, nonetheless.
The latter submitted into a brief battle between Rin and the Terribeast. Chances are extremely slim to win against a Beast that easily dominates both size and strength against the grey Wyngro. It only took a couple blows to give Rin scratches and bruises on her body. This Beast is the embodiment of a monstrous Demon...

Despite physically losing strength in her muscles to fight back, Rin was able to pull the same tactic, albeit conjuring a flame that was bigger than the last. Not only did she send it off at the Beast but part of the flame managed to separate and hit a nearby bush, quickly setting it and parts of the grass around it ablaze.
This was able to startle the Beast to a degree witnessing a soon-to-be forest fire. The Beast was fixated on the fire that was already rapidly beginning to grow by the second. A distraction that will indefinitely ensure an escape for the Wyngrew now...

Paloma shakes her head as she had another recollection to what may have aggravated the Terribeast prior to the event of the chase.
"The egg..." she mumbled. Rin's ears twitched when she heard Paloma speak. "What was that?"

"There... There was a Wyngro Egg before that thing tried to attack me. I was going to try and bring it back to The Nook, but that's when that horrifying creature came out of no where..."

Hearing this, Rin was able to figure out why the Beast tried to assault Paloma. Other than the fact that she clearly trespassed in its territory. "I have a feeling it wants to keep that Egg to itself and raise it. Not only did it seem like you trespassed in its territory, but if that Beast is a Female then its behavior towards the fact that you got too close to the Egg is a common reaction among any wild animal trying to protect their unborn child. They'll even go to great lengths. Even as far as... well. Trying to get "rid" of the problem getting near its child. But I think that Beast would've tried to get rid of us, regardless."

It made sense to Paloma. The concept is similar to a Bird trying to protect its egg nest from predators. In that case, there's no point trying to go back to where she originally found the Wyngro Egg since the Beast is going to be hellbent on her and Rin the next time if it ever sees them again.

"U-Ugh..." Rin's body look like it was about to give. She endured enough but considered everything that happened within the past hour, it was just too much on her. Paloma worries deeply about Rin's physical state.
She nudges at the grey Wyngro's front arms. "Come on, Rin...! Let's leave and head back to the cabin! Y-You can make it!! I know you can!" the little Wyngling urged her to try to stand up and walk.
But at this point, every feeling in Rin's body was beginning to go numb. Her arm which held the conjured flame gave up on her.

"Paloma..." She stares down at the worried Wyngling as the vision in her eyes begin to go blur. "Go... find Jaime..." she lets out her last words before falling over and succumbing to her wounds. Immediate submission to unconsciousness afterwards.

"RIN!!!!"

And with that, Rin has completed Basic Fire. Which, to be honest, just feels like a bittersweet moment given what has happened. So I mean X'D
