Description
"Hmph!! Peri will show big sister Okola and Rain that Peri can handle bad beast monster!!" the blue biped grumbled as she made her way to Wynsiph to join the fight against the Deelagun, while simultaneously going against the wishes of her older sister Rain telling her that she should not get involved due to the dangers that the beast is said to possess. Despite not one to disobey, Peri wanted to show that she'll be fine.Well, that, and she finally has an excuse to use her 'stabby' weapon that she crafted months ago. Been itching to see how much damage the sharp rocks attached to the stick can do. Probably not enough against the beast, but she's hoping she can poke its eye out or at least leave a bit of a scratch. At least leave something on the thing.
"Heehee!!" she giggled to herself excitedly. "Peri can't wait to join fight against bad beast monster! Wonder what bad beast looks like... Hmm..." she continued to ponder the appearance of the Deelagun while she enters into town. The very thought of going up against the beast gave her a thrilling feeling. Even though this isn't something to even be remotely enthusiastic about given the dangers that the Deelagun brings.
"Peri wonders if- OOF!!" a brown biped whom seemed to be in a rush was carrying a red Wyngling when they accidentally bumped into the blue gro.
"Oh my! Terribly sorry, dear!!" the brown gro gave a small apologetic bow.
"It's fine! Peri gets bumped into all the time by random strangers!" the blu gro cheerfully chimed.
The brown biped was a bit confused by Peri's cheerful demeanor and was going to add something, until the ear-bleeding roar from the beast can be heard from where they're standing. The child the brown gro was carrying was cringing from the horrific roar. The brown gro hugged the Wyngling tight in an attempt of comfort.
"I'm sorry! This isn't a good time to chat!! I must go!" the brown biped wasted no time bolting out of town and back to their home.
"Bye, random stranger!!" she waved goodbye at the gro before proceeding to reach the destination of the Deelagun.
As she continued to make her way, she can tell she was getting closer by the very fact that more Wyngrew have been running past her to where she's going, and some that were running in the opposite direction, albeit clearly escaping or trying to get away from the scene of the fight. "Ooooh!! Peri is almost there!" she squealed with excitement. Not wanting to wait another second, Peri chose to catch up with the group of Wyngrew that ran past her earlier. She can already feel the extra pump of adrenaline dancing through her.
Upon arrival, she witnessed many others trying to come at the Deelagun with everything they got. Some were getting injured in the process while others tried to distract it to give others the opportunity to give it a surprise attack.
"Wait..." she took a few steps forward, observing the beast that rests on the Nova Tree as it relentlessly unleashes an attack after the other. The blue biped titled her head, "That's the bad beast monster?" Her tone had a rather vague indication of whether she was surprised or not. The beast to her actually looks hideous and terrifying. At the same time she didn't know what else she was expecting.
"HEY!"
"Huh?" She turned to the direction to one of the wyngrew in battle calling out to her.
"You can stand there like a statue, hide tail and run, OR you can help us take down this damned thing! I don't care which!!" the gro shouting quickly directed their attention back to the Deelagun, evading one of its tail strikes.
Peri gave a simple shrug and began to approach the Nova Tree while the beast was fixated on the other Wyngrew that were bombarding it with multiple attacks from different angles. Perfect opportunity to strike it when it least expects it...
Peri carefully climbed on the Nova Tree where she was rather a bit dangerously close to the beast as it tended to frequently shift its position while it attacked the wyngrew. It wasn't easy trying to climb up given she had her weapon in one hand, making her use her free hand and giving herself a good push to jump on top of parts of the tree. Peri tried to be as cautious as she could be without accidentally coming into contact with the beast's extra set of tentacles, mainly the lengthy ones if she's not careful enough.
The more she climbed the closer she'd get to the beast. And the closer she'd get... she'd stopped to look up and observe it. A simple gaze at the beast, a sudden rush of adrenaline spiked within her. Her heartbeat madly increased. The pupil in her eyes dilated. The feeling she felt on her way to the town vanished after she arrived. But now it's back. And Peri is ready to unleash what she's been waiting for...
Whatever thoughts she had are all gone, as her new ones are only filled with giving the Deelagun one hell of a strike.
She leaped a bit higher on to the tree, and with an unsettling grin she raised her weapon to prepare an attack. "Peri is ready...!!" she whispered to herself.
As soon as she sprang into the air launching herself at the beast, the Deelagun was quick to detect someone from the corner of its eyes immediately directing its focus on to the blue gro. It raised a claw against the biped. The velocity at which Peri was going caused the air to push her hair back, exposing the thrill in her eyes as she was prepared to make a strike.
A raised claw from the Deelagun and a sharp weapon from the blue gro; a strike of white flash as they passed each other...
Peri nearly messed up as she landed back on the ground, almost losing her balance. "Darn it!!" she yelled, frustrated that she didn't quite get a scratch on the beast due to an off aim.
Disappointed and vexated that she almost had that, she scratched her head in an irritated manner. But when she did she felt something wet on her face. That wet feeling was rushing down on the right side of her face, down to her neck, leaving red drops on the ground...
"W-What's... this?" she brushed her hair to examine this wet feeling running down. "Ack!!" she flinched when she tried to feel her face. But she felt an unbearably stinging sensation around her eye when she did, and for some reason found it difficult to open up her right eye at that moment. As soon as she pulled her hand away she realized the wet feeling that ran down her face was merely... "...blood...?"
She may not have gotten a scratch on the Deelagun. But it seems like the beast managed to land one on her...
Peri continued to stare down at the blood on her hand before standing up and walking away in a staggered manner. Not too much blood being lost, but it was enough to make her feel a tad dizzy.
"Peri not scratch bad beast monster..." she grumbled, feeling discouraged.
Placing enough distances away from the fight, she had her back against the wall of one of the buildings and let herself slowly slid down. She allowed her weapon to fall away from her as she released her grip on it.
Peri sat there until she'd feel like getting up and let herself get patched up. Unfortunately, that may be awhile...

The blood running down her face painted Peri's blue coat red, yet another casualty in the fight against the monster. Her sacrifice and those of all the other wyngrew will hopefully paint a brighter, more colourful future for Wysiph.
