Description
Nightfall has arrived, marking the end of the day. The Wyngrew in the household were done and ready to turn in.Alvern picks up some of the leftover scraps off the floor from the fabric he was using to design a piece of clothing. His runeboo playfully rolled around on the floor, getting some of the scraps attached to her body. The green Wyngro had a grin stretched on his face. He nods his head at his runeboo's silly antics.
"Come on, girl." He picks up the silly boo. She managed to place a piece of fabric in her mouth before she was lifted. Alvern chuckles at this. Orchid is such a goofy boo at times. He grabs the end of the fabric, attempting to gently pull it out of the boo's mouth. "Alright, Orchid. Spit it out. It's time to get some rest. Don't ya think?"
Orchid wagged her tail, releasing the fabric scrap. Alvern placed the boo down, proceeding to pick up and preserve anymore pieces from the fabric.
After he has gathered all of the scraps he searches for his "special" bag where he normally stores all of his fabric scraps to use for another time. Albeit it was taking him quite awhile to find it... He could've sworn he placed it somewhere nearby.
"Is this what you're looking for, dear?" Jane taps Alvern's leg, holding up the bag he was looking for.
"Ah!" He exclaims. "Yes! That's the one!" Jane opens up the bag while Alvern disposes the scraps inside. "Thank you, Jane!" He caresses Jane's hair, she responds with a slight blush from being caressed.
A Pink Wyngro walks past the two carrying his Puckoo on his back and making his way to the door. "Goodnight, brother. Goodnight, Jane."
He exits the house, quietly shutting the door behind him.
Jane raises a brow. "Matthias doesn't sleep inside?"
Alvern scratches the back of his head, "Eheh... Yeah. He prefers to sleep outside. He said that the fresh air from the outdoors helps him have a good awakening in the morning."
This was likely indicating that Matthias isn't much of a morning person. Despite the Pink Wyngro rarely expresses much emotion to actually demonstrate that...
Alvern stretches his arms and legs, followed by releasing a big yawn. The green gro could definitely use some sleep. Jane stretches as well. Her wings stretched open followed by a yawn.
"Seems like you're just as tired as I am" Alvern adds. He gently picks Jane up, holding her in a cradle like position as he strolls on over to his bed where his runeboo has already claimed a spot.
"Alvern" Jane looks up at him with a pout, "You don't have to carry me as if I was a newborn Wyngling."
"Ahaha. I'm sorry. I really can't help it every time I hold a Wyngling." He chuckles. "I could just hug one forever! Then again... I'd have to let them go every now and then" he scratches the back of his head, holding in another chuckle.
Gently placing Jane on top of the bed, he does another stretch before climbing aboard.
Orchid picks herself up. Making her way towards the nightstand near the bed to blow out the candle. She goes back over to Alvern and Jane. She lets out a yawn and snuggles up against her owner. Immediately drifting to sleep.
"Must've been more tired than we were" Jane comments.
"Doesn't really take her long to drift in to a slumber" Alvern remarks, trying to get in a comfortable position while trying not to disturb his sleeping runeboo.
Jane already found a comfortable sleeping position and was ready to get a nights' rest. As soon as she shut her eyes she felt arms wrapping around her, being pulled in where she was up against the green gro's fluffy chest as well as hearing his rhythmic heart beat. Her eyes gazed up at the composed Wyngro who caresses her hair. The feeling of having his finger-like claws slowly running through her strands of hair felt pleasant. Relaxing...
"You know..." Alvern quietly spoke, "It's been a delight having you around. Ever since you came to me and my brother for some help and advice, you've been making some remarkable progress." He ceased caressing the hair of the Wyngling. "Not only that, but you've been a great help whenever I'm crafting new accessories and clothing. You being around makes things so much better around here!"
Alvern's praise left her face a slight pink. Other than Kid, she doesn't recall anyone else ever telling her that they enjoyed her prescence. She was truly touched.
"T-Thank you, Alvern..." She expressed her gratitude. "You... You've been so kind to me, despite I was already aware of what Matthias has told you about my personality. Truth be told I was genuinely afraid that you'd have trouble putting up with me to the point of enduring my behavior..." Her head tilts down a little, avoiding his eye. "I felt that I was going to be burden to you. That I was going to be a complete waste of your time..."
His index finger meets the female Wyngling's chin, tilting her head up some to meet his eye. "Jane..." he spoke softly. "You were never a waste of my time. Nor are you a burden. When you came to me and my brother, something about you screamed 'I want to be better.' And yes, I was previously aware of your behavior due to being informed by my brother. But I wasn't going to judge you. You came to us. Me, especially. Therefore, I was going to help you. Not everyone receives the kindness and love that they deserve. When someone doesn't gain enough love and compassion, they sometimes become cold, distant, or even worse... I felt that a part of you was missing both. You're worth all of the love in the world, Jane. And you deserve every ounce of it.."
Jane was left silent after hearing that. The green gro has done nothing but shown her compassion in every way possible ever since she first met him. It's because of him that she has been having a much more easier time interacting with other Wyngling's without acting bratty or demanding like she used to. She gave anything that was new to her a chance as a way of gaining an experience. And in the end, she enjoyed it. Well, most of it...
The cheeks on the green Wyngro began to turn pink. "Hey Jane, mind if I ask you something?"
Jane fixates her eyes on Alvern.
He heaves a sigh. Hoping that what he is about to ask her won't come out the wrong way. "Can... Can I adopt you?"
Her wings spontaneously spawned open. Her eyes widened. "C-Come again?" She asks of him, though in a surprised tone.
Alvern repeats, "Can I adopt you? As my sister?"
For a brief moment everything went silent. Tears began to fill the eyes of the brown Wyngling. "You... want to adopt me? As your sister?" her voice cracked, but had a mixture of happiness and astonishment. She couldn't find the words to express what she was feeling.
"Yes..." he nodded. "I would like to keep you around as a member of our family. Matt seems to be enjoying you, too. Even if he doesn't show it well. I can read him quite fine. And Orchid likes you a whole lot, too. Then again, she immediately loves anyone whom she meets."
Looking down at the tearful Wyngling, he repeats his question once more. "Can I adopt you, Jane?"
Tears ran down passed her cheek fluff. Her eyes lit up. A wide grin appeared on her face... "Yes...! Yes! Yes you can adopt me, Alvern! I would love to be a part of your family!!" She embraced his fluffy chest, crying with joy.
Alvern hugged her back, nuzzling her head. "Thank you, and welcome to the family...! I love you, Lady Jane."
"Please, dear..." she sniffled, looking back up at him. Still feeling overjoyed. "Just Jane is how I'd rather be addressed from now on." Jane goes back to hugging the green gro.
"I love you, too. Big brother..."
