1. How can I improve the lighting in this manip? The moon is so large, but I didn't know how to incorporate its light without washing out the model's face.
I would resize the moon because it just got a bit too big. To set a bit more light try a smooth brush with some suitable light color and set the layer mode on negative multiply and try around. Use the eraser to remove it a bit from the models face if you want so

2. At first I wanted to keep it simple, but looking back I think it needs more. What could I have added to bring my piece up a notch or two?
I like it, like it is now maybe you could put some birds on the background but I would change as much.

3. What's one element that really needs to be worked on? I would love to improve this manip.
There is a bit too much black in the bottom. That is the only thing I would change .

The model's upper side needs some outer glow. Be careful with the color and the opacity. My opinion.

Answering your questions at
The moon is really big and bright so the rocks behind the model should reflect some of its light as well, just a little though, on the edges. The same goes for model's arm and elbow - I would put a bit more light there. Or just reduce that big white light coming from the moon.
I also don't love too much the lower half of the picture, it's too dark and empty. Maybe you should add something at the feet of the model? Like some night animal? Owl maybe? Or just some bush with roses? Or whatever that fits the mood of the picture.

The moon may be large, but it still doesn't give off a lot of light; just think of how little light the moon gives to us. As such, I feel that the lighting in this image is fine! Perhaps a few more highlights are needed in the shadows at the bottom, and perhaps those shadows could be reduced a little, but otherwise it's fine. That large light behind the moon is odd... it appears to be coming from nowhere? Another point is the way the moon is blended in the sky, but I'll go through that in Q3.

Perhaps a few smaller details, such as birds flying across the sky, a few jewels added to her existing jewellery or clothes. I wouldn't add too much, else you'll distract from her as a focal.

Because you've resized the moon, it looks like some of the detail is lost. Also the way you've blended it looks off. The fact that the blue gradient is blending over the craters looks unnatural given how dark the rest of the sky is.  Also, the strands of hair on her left arm (closest to the moon) looks stuck on. I'd consider removing it and just leave it draping on her right arm.
