Okay so here's the rules of the zombies of the AU, more or less

(Keep in mind this AU was inspired by Last of Us and similar series, so you don't need to point out similarities to me like a dickwad)

The undead, of course, infect others via biting, scratching, yadayada, except, black crystalline shards grow out of their wounds as they rot away, eventually the crystal shards will become sharp, large and heavy, sometimes so heavy the zombie cannot move, and eventually dies again via starvation, and the crystals are allowed to grow freely

These crystals aren't magic, and aren't known to nature at all

You know you've definitely been infected if little crystalline rocks are growing out of even the tiniest of cuts, you can feel them as they grow on and inside of you, and it's painful

They don't grow too fast when they're growing on you're, but everyone turns at different rates, sometimes in a matter of minutes, or days after death, same goes for the crystals

The zombies eventually will have those crystals growing all over them

If you get any sort of deep cut from these crystal rocks, you are infected, unless you disinfect the wound, like, immediately, or remove the shard growing from within you, but that's incredibly painful.

These crystals can also grow on trees, the ground, dead animals, etc. Animals don't turn into zombies but if they're infected the crystals start growing all over them just as they would any human

These crystals, when not growing off of dead bodies, can grow pretty darn fast, and hugge too

They leech energy off of the ground and from living things, just like how gems do in SU in order to be made

These crystals are usually black, but sometimes they'll consist of other colors too

If you've been infected, and get shot, the crystals will grow out of the bullet wounds, and the bite wounds

The crystals are not the only way to spread the zombie virus, there's biting, scratching, etc.
