Vampire Hunter was released by Virtual World Unlimited in early October to match the Halloween season. It was one of many Virtual Role Playing Games, or VRPGs, the company had released. Like most of their VRPGs, it too had the optional hypnosis feature.

Sinclair was a man in his late 20s. He had preordered the game so he could start playing it as soon as it was released. He selected an albino woman for his character. She looked like a vampire but she was far from it. If the vampires got too close, they would quickly find that out.

Sinclair decided to use the hypnosis feature because he wanted the full experience. Vampires were known to be masters of hypnosis so he would have to be particularly careful with this game. Then again trying to avoid hypnosis while already hypnotized seems like a lost cause. However, the hypnosis from the game under normal circumstances and the hypnosis of the game while under the control of a vampire were very different.

Hunting vampires was both the title and theme of the game and Sinclair felt up to the challenge. Having read up on the game before it was released, his character would take advantage of her pale skin and lure vampires to her. That way she could kill many vampires and accumulate items and experience points rapidly.

At first things were going exactly as Sinclair had planned but as with most games as the level increased with difficulty. Eventually his character found herself in over her head. A powerful vampire overpowered her. Instead of killing her or turning her into a vampire, he decided to use her to lure unsuspecting vampire hunters just like she had lured unsuspecting vampires.

This was particularly troubling for Sinclair because where his character got hypnotized, he did too. Since he lived by himself, unless the phone rang or someone came to the door there would be no one to break him out of hypnosis. For the next few hours, he would see himself as an albino woman loyal to the vampires.
