'Amenii, do you know why my breast are so big?'

Nera’s voice was soft in her ear.

‘N-No.’ Amenii stammered a fresh batch of tears welling in her eyes.

‘It’s because their full of comfort.’

Without another word, Nera scooped her off the floor and buried Amenii deep in her bosom.

She cried there softly, warping her arms around Nera’s sides and clutching her like an infant. She had only heard that there had been a commotion at the ZPD in the Rainforest district, and that Amenii was on her way back.

The messengers voice was not familiar, and it had been delivered in great haste, but she had caught enough of it. Words of grief, spoken in a hushed whisper. ‘Broken Bunny, Yarro, like this sometimes. Inquirers, hope.’ And then the voice at the other end was gone.

Nera knew better than to try and extract the story from her this soon, whatever it had been had hurt her deeply, and she would need time to process what had happened.

Draping a massive hand over her back, she held Amenii tightly.

‘It’ll be okay.’
