"Goats don't lay eggs!" Isabelle all but screamed, her frustration finally boiling over. They had been over this again and again for days now! Richard insisting through every means possible that it was not only possible but also desired as well.

It had started off innocent enough, the rex pushing her back into the massive nest of dried mud and sticks. Richard had gone to great lengths to smooth the surface down to a near perfect bowl for her to sleep in. When she kept trying to climb out he had instead began to padded it with fresh palms and done his best to pad her would be bed.

He had kept bringing her carcasses too, massive duck billed dinosaur one day and then several gnawed on fish from the pond the next day. It had taken all her best miming and a lot of screaming to make him understand that goats do not eat meat. Only when she had broken down and started crying did he finally seem to understand and bring her something more palatable.

After that little understanding Richard had gone out of his way to flood the nest with an abundance of fruit trees and vegetation. She hoped that most of it was edible. So far nothing had killed her yet, though some of the plants she hesitated to eat.

The day he came back with a shredded yellow tarp in his mouth Isabelle had been overjoyed, she didn't like the way he kept looking at her with those beady predatory eyes. That was just another subject she had yet to be able to communicate accurately with him. The concept of clothes seemed all to alien to Richard who would only shake his head and push her back into the nest when she tried to make for the forest's edge to break off leaves to make some basic coverings. As best she could tell he seemed to interpret her need to cover herself as a means of preening.

That had only made him even more insufferable! Not a day would go by without him nudging her belly and rumbling in a deep throaty purring. He would occasionally nip at her when she tried to crawl out of the nest, and at one point he has used his terribly large head to pin her to the base of the nest after a failed escape attempt. She had screamed, punched, and kicked his nose and lower jaw for hours, the act only seemed to amuse the Rex who took her blows with stoic silence.

That was when she slowly started to piece together what he wanted from her, and when she did he seemed to become enthralled with the notion. Thus had begun their epic and very one sided struggle in their debate.

Richard would do everything he could to provide for her, then look at her expectantly. This would then devolve into a nudging or as Isabelle called it a pushing match of her trying to leave the nest and Richard insisting she stay. Then it would slowly progress into a state of mutual frustration, Isabelle screaming at the rex and Richard rumbling ominously at her in turn. By noon both parties would have fought themselves into exhaustion and fall into a tense silence.

This pattern had repeated itself for almost three days now and there seemed to be no end in sight.

"No." She protested, pointing at her belly. "No, it doesn't work like that. Look I appreciate you not eating me but I'm not going to be producing a clutch of baby t-rexs any time soon."
