The sun soaked into her fur, bright and full of warmth. Closing her eyes, she could feel its golden hands caressing her body, as soft as Nera’s fingers the night before. It was something that had almost become a ritual for them, every night that Nera came to her she would run the next morning.
Nera loved to sleep in, usually exhausted from the nightly activity. She had a few hours still, a few hours that she could run through the city. The street corners and pop shops were just opening, it was exhilarating, like running over a waking giant.

No people, or very few anyways. She loved that too, it let her be alone with her thoughts. It gave her time to think, about her job, her future, Nera, their crazy relationship. She was till at a loss. Rounding the corner, she waited for the light to change.

What would people think, if they knew about her, about Nera…

She had heard of a bunny, the first and only bunny cop, Judy, Judy who had cracked the Night Howler case, Judy who had fallen for a fox… A predator.

Nera was a predator… Maybe they would understand.

Shaking her head, she started up again. No. It was different. It would be, dangerous and unfair, to her, to Nera. No, best to keep their relationship a careful secret.

Suddenly, she didn’t want to be alone. She wanted to be home again, in her apartment. Nestled under Nera’s arm, listening to her soft snoring as her chest rose and feel. Pressing her face into Nera’s warm breasts as her massive hands cradled her. It was a place she could feel safe, happy, and bliss, away for judging eyes.

At the corner she stopped, turned, she would cut the run short today.
