‘Marco…’
‘Polo!’

Anna, following Sandra’s voice shifted, her legs carrying her down the left hand path. Fingers brushing against the rough shrubbery, she moved with slow deliberation.

‘Marco!’

‘…pollo…’

Taking another tentative step forwards, her arms carefully spaced before her to avoid colliding with the hedge walls. At first Anna had been reluctant to give up her white cane, her best and primary means of seeing the world. Still Sandra had insisted that she was more than capable of guiding her through the gardens, though be it in a rather left handed fashion.

‘Marco?’

‘Pollo!’

Sandra’s voice came directly before her. She was entering some sort of clearing, she could tell, the sun above now moved to warm her crimson hair through her sun bonnet and a strong breeze swept freely around her swirling dress.

Arms out, Anna advanced, she could almost sense Sandra, she was close, the though sending a shiver of excitement though her as she took another tentative step. Gasping as light fingers brushed her own, Anna cried as in a sudden motion, Sandra spun her around and dipped her like a professional dancer.

‘Sandra!’ Anna exclaimed, her heart racing in her chest with the sudden momentum. ‘You cheek, don’t do that.’

A warm hand brushed against her chin, moving up to cup the side of her face, and in the moment Anna all but forgot her sudden fear and anger she felt towards Sandra.

‘Pest.’ She muttered, shaking her head before leaning in, finding Sandra’s lips waiting.

Anna loved those lips, soft, warm, and the hint of strawberries that teased her, every time she tasted them. Her heart was fluttering by the time Sandra let her go.

‘So, are you still mad at me?’ Sandra’s words all but smiled. ‘Because if you are…’

Hands found Anna’s hips, and in a moment Sandra was pressing herself against her again. Strong arms moving to embrace her as those lips she adored sought her out again, Sandra’s teeth finding purchase on her lower lip and delivering a sharp little bite.

The sensation set a shiver up Anna’s spine as Sandra slowly pulled.

Breathing heavily, Anna steadied herself, it was all she could do not to melt into Sandra’s arms.

C.S. Notes: Another fun painting featuring two of my favorite human characters, Anna, to the left, and Sandra, right. These two make such a lovely couple, Sandra is a stubborn tom boy who dresses in jean jackets and leather, while, Anna, blind - prefers dresses and sun hats.
