Drawing in a deep breath Linda watched her chest slowly rise and fall, rise and fall, she was slowly beginning to get used to the changes her body had undergone months before. The urge to itch continuously until her skin was raw was the hardest to adapt and overcome. That and having to deal with fur in the worst possible places. She still got text messages from her friends reminding her about some of her more epic rants on the ordeals of having furry boobs.
‘- And do you know how hot these **** ******* ******’s get! It’s like being stuck in a parka in the middle of the desert!’

A middle ground was something not easily found, though mostly through trial and error she had redone her wardrobe to better fit her body. Any garment, before she even considered it, had to breath. If it did not breath it was thrown out.

The result was a much reduced wardrobe for the first few months while she had to divert her paycheck to finding clothing that fit. That and something that was stretchy. Though she tried to keep that problem on the down low. Her friends, naturally insisted on taking advantage of the situation any time they were able to meet up. Playfully of course, but Linda always found it draining to be immobilized for the better part of the night. The clean up that had to follow was always a chore, and not one she tended to look forwards to.

Still, life went on and now so did she. Looking back, it she shook her head, it could have ended a lot worse, she could have developed any number of super powers, like being turned into a living walking pile of rocks. She could already hear the ‘boulder holder’ jokes forming and said her silent thanks as she stepped onto the plane.

As her life was going this was going to be a new step, leaving the country. Leaving her home. All to embrace a new life. The thought both filled her with equal parts fear and excitement. Forcing calm she cast a quick look down, nothing yet, the airlines had been very hesitant to even consider letting her on a plain in the first place. And already she had caught the flight attendant casting her side long glances as though she were a ticking time bomb ready to go off at a moments notice.

Calm. She breathed out. Calm.

Stepping up to the ramp she began her journey to her new home.

C.S. Notes: I just wanted to do a little personal piece for Linda. Something of my own creation, and inspiration struck me while I was on the tram. Thankfully I had a pocked full of folded paper and was able to do a quick sketch in just under twenty minutes, finishing just as my stop came up.

I chose to draw her in a kimono because they can be adjusted to be loose fitting, and she looks just that much cuter in one. After some debate I decided I was going to leave this one in its sketchy form rather than touch it up. It just feels more natural this way.
