She had worn her stumps raw training in the gym with her prosthetic legs, when the nurses saw that she was beginning to bleed it was all she could do silence their protests.

Though the sockets were supposed to be form fitting they had still chafed through her fur. Only after the legs had been stripped from her and she had been forced unceremoniously back into a bed were she was left to brood darkly did the pain begin to creep up her stumps.

The situation only worsened when the doctor was called, presumably summoned by the nurses she had told to F*** off, an elderly sort with shrewd eyes he had scolded her for being reckless all the wile bandaging her legs with antiseptic gauze to stop the bleeding.

It wasn't the lecture that caused the fire's in her gut to flare, or the searing pain of the anti-bionics seeping into her wounds, it was the look of pity in his eyes.

A cripple. That was all he saw.

And she hated him for it.

"You are going to have to accept that with you...disability, there are certain limitations. Things that you just cannot do any more." he stated mater of factually.

With a voice of cold fury, Amenii bit out the words:

"I am more than a disability."

Notes: This is a snip it of the original story, before anything hit the drawing boards. Amenii, the tough bunny who is just to stubborn to give a damn that she has lost her legs, and pushing herself beyond what any medical doctor would recommend. She got some of this fire from Nera, and was even going to snarl at the medical staff like a predator. Upon which they would believe her crazy. I like this version better myself.
