Thank you, I was feeling in the mood for a dynamic piece, and this fellow came to mind. This is what happens when your employer cuts overtime, and then sends everyone home on leave. Nice, but at the same time, not so nice.

That there is, sort of drawn from a bit of life chaos brought on by the corona virus. Lot of crazy right now.

If you are still standing as the battle rages......then it’s going well!

We will beat this new enemy.
Listen to the professionals, mind personal space, wash your dang hands..........above all be nice, be considerate!

You are not immune!
You can get this and just be sick.
Your mother, father, a passing old person, a child can get this from you......and you just killed them!!

Listen to the rules!!

Lol very true. And if you are the last man standing when the battle ends, then you are doing great!

I have the wash hands part down and avoid people. My biggest issue is that work did two things that I am a little miffed about: One, cut ALL overtime, regardless effective immediately - the manager called my personal cell phone too. So that sets the level of how serious they were about this. And secondly, they then sent us all home on leave, and hinted that while away from work it would be best if we self quarantine. Now, this is a bit of a bummer as I can no longer make huge leaps and bounds forwards to paying off my debts. And at the same time, giving someone like me near unlimited free time is a very, very, bad idea.

Day one: Cleaned entire house, every, single, surface. Then washed floors three times over.

Day two: went to gym for the day, stayed all day...

Day three: regret decisions day two.

Day four: 0600 can walk again, and hobble over to computer.

Day four: 0630 Read up on effects of corona virus

Day four: 0637 Go to Amazon.com

Day four: 0640 added 1800 century plague doctor, mask, gloves, hat, satchel bag, and robes to cart. Total price, just under $100

Day Five (Present day): waiting for order, begin making plans to go shopping, wait at bus stations, and visit local hospital to see if they need volunteers.

Been practicing my 'Remain calm, I'm a doctor!' line.

Day two......interesting.

I am manning my desk, cameras up and running. Securing the office. Waiting for the infected zombies to storm the building after they find out we have cases of hand sanitizer and more importantly.........TOILET PAPER!!

Right now 3 gigs short loading the MW Patch. Next up download the new Doom!!

Be safe. Mind this stuff.
Don’t fear an atomic war.......Fear the chemical biological war.

On for two hours, rest for one, on for two, rest for one. Lots of running and arm work, though as the day went on I had to keep stepping down the weights. I am sure people were wondering as I am making horrible noise trying to lift a 5lb weight.

Lol wait you have toilet paper, what were your GPS coordinates again? Both those items I have not seen in just shy of two weeks as of present.

Ah, Doom a classic, I need to catch up but it looks like Doom eternal will be a good one.

And can do, this one is not one to mess around with. You as well, keep the zombies at bay.

I got Doom. It’s pretty good and it’s not easy. Limited ammo running and gunning. Lots of strafing movements. Not like old Doom. I call them Plaza fights. You move into an open area and run around killing enough to trigger the next level then tunnel along to next open area and fight again. Lots of restarts from checkpoints.
My office is now operating as a command center which I had planned for by keeping the place ready. Move a few items and they were up and running.

Very nice, I need to brush up on some of my gaming skills. Ironically, the last one I picked up was Ori and the Will O' Wisps. A very soothing, sort of pretty game. Until the boss battles. Then I get thrown back to the familiar grounds that is best described as Dark Souls. Aka Get ready to die. A lot. And while you are doing that, try and memorize the boss attack program patterns and figure out how to dance between them while they try to squish you flat. >.<

Oh boy, well that puts you at the heart of the action then. I fear, I am on the far side of things. We have effectively been told to take a week off, and if we show any symptoms or even suspect we have contracted anything to just stay home, and away from everyone else.

And hope you survive thru the week. Hope you get paid!!Things are getting so bad in hospitals that they now have to step back if someone is crashing as they don’t have enough ventilators or protecting gear to go in. Here Texas is holding but barely. While we have a lot of folks they are spread out more than many other cities.
Mexico we hear is breaking down civilly. Folks are breaking into stores taking everything.
Very interesting scary times!!
Be safe.......and don’t get squished!!😁

Oh boy, so this is going the path of Hurricane Katrina all over again. Somehow I saw this one as a grim sort of inevitability, but had hoped that it would not happen.

So far I have been lucky, that and inside most of the time when not at work. Though with summer this close around the corner, I admit it has become more and more of a challenge. I also find myself spending more time down at the farm, working on my fathers property deforesting the area around the creek. The beavers have been making a mess out of that with no less than three dams.

All three have now been torn out, but that was a grunt. Got one of the beavers too, hefty fellow, probably 80+ pounds and had to drag him out in the morning in a sled. Thank goodness for the snow and freezing rain or that would have been a slog. Made sure to text a few people too, referring only to the beaver as: The Body. The reactions to this were a mix of 'Should I be alarmed? To, You need any help? Good company all around. ^^

I believe we have enough ventilators for now, but, being sort of in the center of the country and further north, we have not been hit by the advancing wave that badly. Not yet...

Fingers crossed, and lets both make it through this without catching this bug.

That is true......however its believed some of us may have already had this stuff. Back late Feb I got sick. Weird symptoms, food had no taste, couldn’t smell stuff, really physically drained, loopy feelings, Massive goo running down back of nose, chest tightness, felt like I was coughing out lung tissue sooo much goo coming out and I swear someone was crushing my head in a vise it hurt so much. No bad runny nose or really bad aches like a normal
Video doc who called it probably a type of flu. Stayed home taking meds and got better. But the lungs were still congested for weeks finally clearing last week.
Luckily I was off for the time I was probably contagious but then the wife got it. Tore her up too and she’s just getting better.
Several of us had it and we were all similar in symptoms.

Then they announced this Covid19!

Just like the Plague there appears to be two types.....one which makes you sick and the other that tries to kill you.

I like the β€œbody” removal story.
Many folks don’t know how big a beaver can get!!
Destructive dang things too!

The horrors! The first thing that jumps to mind is a game called Plague Inc. and I probably have more fun than I really should playing this. The premise is simple you choose a virus, fungus, bacteria, ext, and unleash it somewhere in the world, and try and kill off the planet. You can mutate the virus, make it more resilient, or keep the effects subtle and hope the doctors do not notice. However, once the virus is discovered, usually when the death tole starts rising, then the world starts working on a cure, and quarantining areas of the planet. Then the race is on - can your virus wipe out the world population before the cure is synthesized?

Hours, or well, thirty minute of fun for a rainy day.

'So what did you do over the weekend?'

'Oh, I just ran a couple dozen plague simulations and decimated the world population. You?'

That the announcement of Covid19 came out so late is what I found most concerning, as, those in power most definitely knew about the virus and its spreading. So, why was there so long of a delay in letting the public know? Besides the usual suspects, politics and the need to save face, and not cause a mass panic, aka see the run on any general store we are watching to date.

Gads, this does not sound like a nice virus at all, and that there are two strands now. Mutating? Or already preexisting? Either way I am glad you and your wife pulled though, it sounds like you got the early form of the virus which, believe it or not is a very good thing. The longer a virus is active, the more resilient it becomes in most cases. Best to get it while it is at its weakest and not a later strand.

Also, does this sound oddly like the Bubonic plague, again with the two strands, one that made people ill, and the other which was just out to kill anything and everyone.

Beaver wise, oh they can get huge. A friend of mine, Charley, pulled one out of the ice, and it was almost as big as he was hefting the sucker up. Destructive for sure too, we had to rip that dam out three times before they finally gave up the attempt at fixing it. I even felled a tree over one of their side channels, say about 4-5 yards. I go back the next day, they had gnawed the tree in half and dragged the top half away overnight. Well so much for plan A... Β

A Plague game!
And they say Call of Duty promotes awful behavior!!

These types of viruses are capable of variety in strains due to their simple make up.
Just a slight change can turn it from infectious to neutral.

Remember the Andromeda Strain. Excellent story about a contagion. This was from space but same idea. Something incredibly lethal. Only survivors were a crying baby and an old alcoholic.
This Covid follows a similar path by devastating a person with medical issues and sparing a healthy person.
A wide variation that has perplexed the docs.

Once they start allowing us to gather in herds again will tell if the virus has been reduced.
I don’t think so as we have only delayed the spread.
It’s still there.

Lol Call of Duty taught me may great things, such as that one can throw their knife half way across the map while doing a triple jump in mid-air to impale their attacker and instant kill them. Real life this has yet to be tested.

I admit Plague Inc was way to entertaining though it was pretty short lived. The game difficulty needs to be upped some more, but for an indy game it was pretty good. Virus wise, that is the danger of having such a simple organism, little changes is all it takes.

Ah, Andromeda, the great epidemic film of how humanity meets its inevitable end. Not a bad film really, though I need to re watch it again, as now is the most appropriate of times to do so. The idea of this thing spreading and becoming even more virulent does not sit well with me. This virus is scary enough as is, without adding more layers too it, alas, such is the reality of evolution and contagion. Mostly I find myself worrying about my father and mother as both are now considered elderly and therefor at a higher risk.

Thank goodness both are out in the country and therefor not at as high a risk. Me. I am in the city so I live in a viral hot spot. Yay... T.T

That is what I fear the most. The second the 'All clear' goes out, this thing is going to explode. And not in a good way. - The first thing that comes to mind is the film Jaws, where the mayor convinces an elderly couple to go into the water, and low and behold everyone follows them in even thought there is a shark warning in effect. Masses. Got to love them. >.<

Oh yes.....in COD I met my demise many times from the impossible shot!! Still trying to master the pistol 1000 yard head shot!
Augment players (just a version of cheating).
I still smile at my little medal Kingslayer.
Earned by killing the other teams top scorer with zero time on clock making it last kill.
Pure dumb luck!!
Oh and did he bitch about it!!
I went on how I only had two kills in the match....gimme a break for crying out loud you big girly baby!!
All their kills were sniper rifle quick scope shots in CQB.
I have still not mastered that trick.
I read the book before the movie. Who would have thought our contagion would come from China instead of space. Still its concerning about bringing back samples of Mars, asteroids, or comets......the theory prevalent now is the building blocks of life came from space......and you wanna introduce new biological mass??

Anyway it is what it is. Being in DFW area we are hammered but doing good considering. Funny seeing roads open, stores closed, and masked folks walking about. Funnier still watching folks walk up, rattle the office doors, then walk away gripping about the office being closed! I want my DL and I want it NOW!! Who do I complain too???
I respond the Governor.......he has an online site for complaining....be safe.

In a way, sword fighting or any kind of martial arts are a lot like dancing. I, being a sort of old fashioned mentality, adhere to the philosophy that one should be able to dance as well as they fight. To that extent, I learned several classical dances to go along with my sword play.

There is nothing funner than dancing a Vietnamese Tango - it is a very seductive, powerful, and flashy dance. Kind of like watching a cat pouncing, with a lot of head snapping thrown in for effect. Very, very fun.
