Description

Blinking, Scar slowly let the rims dim light come into focus before she closed her good eye again. The scar tissue surrounding left eye twitched uncomfortably and she pawed at it with her two remaining fingers. Only the persistent beeping coming from her alarm on the shelf kept her from drifting back into the blissful abyss. She had been dreaming, but about what she could not remember anymore. It had been a pleasant dream she remembered that much.

Now in the chill morning air she wanted nothing more than to curl back up under the covers. Blindly flailing her arm she reached upwards until she finally came into contact with the cold metal surface of the alarm and silenced the beast.

Silence. And it was beautiful.

Cold, but beautiful. Rubbing her fingers over the remains of her right arm she blew out a long tired breath. The air was cool, unpleasantly so, and pulling the blankets over her head she began the slow process of building up her resolve to get out of bed.

β€œOctober already.’

It would seem that Scar has had a bad day or two in her life.

Just a few, though she has persevered through them and they have left their mark on her.

Right now we are just being rained on near 24/7. Though there was two nice moments of sunlight that showed for the last two days. That was incredibly nice.

I've had a couple days of rain, but mostly just windy and chilly.

Ugh, cold wet and all around unpleasantness. Still, better than snow that is for sure. ^^

I dislike rain worse because it gets in your socks.

A nice way to start a day.

We expect the October chill beginning this weekend.

Today was 97 and humid.
Right now it’s 85.

It is, that and coffee, coffee makes any day better.

Tonight that chill rolled over us, it wasn't so bad in the morning, but after a late night shift I could definitely feel it going to the car.

That sounds pretty nice right about now, I think it is holding in the low 60s, with 80% humility.

Why o' why did I leave Alaska?

Never underestimate the goodness of coffee.

I am a daily Macchiato imbiber.
On the way to the office every morning.
Maybe one later with a yummy cheese danish.
That’s good fuel there.

We are anxiously awaiting that cold front.
It’s coming.........mid 70s days......60s night.......pure gold.

I ask myself the same question......I could’ve stayed.......had a pipeline job offer. I was already cold acclimated. Survival trained..........and single. But something told me to move on......so I did........and ended up in Texas. Only a 100 plus years after the rest of the β€œfamily”.
But it is what it is.........in the past.
Move Forward.....

Ah coffee, the black nectar if the gods and life fuel for all those who must rise before the sun.

I am still waiting for that first really nasty snow fall, the one that sweeps across the state and causes entire state and then some.

Happens every year without fail. The question is: when?

Three good things when working in the pipeline, good pay too. If I had taken up the trade, and I wish I had now, I would be up there myself.

Now though, I find myself in the middle of the great state if Minnesota. Not too bad, save for the drifts.

Good things in Minnesota, the Vikings, the Timberwolves, the Wild, and the most famous residents out of Frostbite Falls......a moose and a flying squirrel!😁
