A Tragic love tale for Nick and Judy on this. I would imagine that day would Haunt him for the rest of his life when he was forced to kill/eat her either against his better judgement or maybe if Judy herself actually offered given her personality. Maybe Amenii will help him move on. or maybe not. i am interested to find out how this all plays out

The guilt the day she died nearly destroyed him. He never really recovered, instead he tends to sway between sanity and madness. Their story is a tragic one, one that I'm not even sure I have the heart to put on paper. 
I must congratulate you, as you are so far the first to intuitively grasp the why of the reason he kept Judy's pelt.

Probably his madness was part of the reason he decided to make what was left of her in a pelt.
It is sweet in a lost your mind kind of way, Poor guy in his addled state thought that if he did so, Judy would always be with him.
Poor Fox really needs a friend or hugs a lot of both. And a lifetime of therapy
The latter well is not an option in those dark times and the former can be achieved, if he can keep his sanity intact long enough.

Yeah, Nick is going to need some serious therapy, if he makes it out of this alive. Giving the grim nature of this world though, survival is always in the low percentile range. More likely, one is to be picked off by another predator.Β
I confess that creating this world has been great fun, but at the same time I wonder about my own mental health. Wandering through dark places and all can not be healthy.

well you are not the first to do dark takes on Zootopia, however i never seen that type of scenario with Nick and Judy in particular. Even if you use Nick as a throwaway for just how dark this world is, it does set the story well.
If i am being honest my take on lesbian relationships is neutral and i am averse to sexual scenarios in said relationships. However i am open to seeing romantic interactions between two female characters, i am only commenting on this cause of your case with Amenii and Nera in your art gallery.
Be that as it may, i do love the story so far, and i am rather sad for Nick since i do love that fox immensely. However it will not drive me away if you decide to kill him off. I am interested in seeing How Amenii gets through this world

Ah, that is what I had hoped to achieve, a new take on the materiel present. I admit I am hesitant to go into details on an open page about how characters are to be used, and in what manner.
So, I pose to you the question: Would you like a peek at the script of Zootopia Arctic Drift?
Yes, the relationship between Amenii and Nera. Thankfully, this universe is different, similar, but different. Thought here is the possibility of a relationship developing between Nera and AmeniiΒ here, it is not that likely. (I would again have to go off a public page to discuss this further) But I can say with relative certainty, that the lesbian relationship will be downplayed, and that sex, will not be a likely selling point of this story.
Nick, o' I do long to explain what I have in store for him.

There is no limit but i prefere to read something with a little of happiness or at least hope.
Pandora unleash disasters and sickness but hope made people still want to live.
Readers that are following a dark and grim story can take so much of desepaire if there is no light

Well... So few liveable lands... Conflicts will began, it s obvious.
I was more thinking of a personal hope for the characters. It can be similar to the world hope. But maybe she is searching for her family/love ones or anything else.

The key is finding these lands first, so far, these lands are just rumors spread by traveling merchants and old men who talk about the days of old.
Personal goals...
1. Survive the next couple of days.
Amenii tends to live in the moment, making long term goals difficult to predict for her.
Alas, her relationship with her family is, troubled. There's a reason she's alone.
Nera, is a lost soul, someone who has been surviving to long. Again motivation, cloudy.

Not bad but you could also go with the dreaded but jealous dwarfs from the alternate steampunk - past who are part werewolf, part ogres and hell bent on stealing her underwear for their ant - godmother as a crucial part of her next summer's beach holiday attire.
Anyway, most important is that the events and characters remain very realistic and firmly believable yesno.
