Description
Jack is sitting on a stool in the same back room he was shoved in before by the yetis. He is now wearing new clothes specially made for this kind of occasions. All the guardians were getting ready to welcome the new spirits. Each was to be dressed in ceremonial clothes of their respective colors. Jack had complied to wear his clothes too but felt quite uncomfortable in his new blue pants and white blouse covered by a long blue formal jacket with the Guardians emblem on it's back. He had never wore anything this fancy before and now he was having a stare-off with one of the elves. Jack shakes his head slowly with a stern face. The elf nods his head slowly with an equally grim face. Shake. Nod. Shake. Nod. This continues for a while before a certain pooka enters the room.
"What in the name of Easter are you doing snowflake?", Bunnymund asks with an amused look on his face.
"Stare-off. Clash of wills.", Jack answers from his seat without taking his eyes off the elf and then points towards the stool next to him. "I'm not..wearing those.", he states firmly about the shoes placed over the stool. The same blue shoes that were offered to Jack when he was announced to become a Guardian at North's workshop for the first time.
"You afraid of a pair of shoes? Though I did think that I'd catch you dead before I'd see you in an outfit like that.", Bunny chuckles. That broke Jack's concentration and he stands up swiftly turning toward Bunny with a scowl on his face and thinking of a good retort but ends up swallowing it when his eyes land on Bunnymund. He was wearing a green version of Jack's outfit and a tie. Jack was almost speechless.
"You're one to talk. I've never even seen you wear clothes before let alone a suit. And I notice you're not wearing any shoes either.", Jack says crossing his arms.
"Something like: shoes for rabbits, don't exist mate.", Bunny smirked.
"Right. No shoes but clothes sure.", Jack answers with a pout.
"It's not like you have to wear that all the time. Just for a short while so try to have some fun.", Bunny adds.
"Fun? I know how to have fun. My center is fun. Those..", Jack points at the shoes, "..don't count as fun."
Bunny is about to say something back to the fuming winter spirit when North suddenly slams the door open. He was wearing a more formal version of his regular red coat and he was beaming with joy.
"Jack, my boy! You look really good!", North walks to Jack and picks him up to a hug.
"I'm so happy you agreed to wear this. I worked hard on it. Do you like?", North asks with a smile while putting Jack down so he can answer.
Jack sighs and then a small smile appears on his face. "It's quite different from what I'm used to. Very...formal."
North laughed at Jack's answer and pats him on the back and the three of them walk to the already decorated main hall were Sandy and Tooth are already waiting for them. Sandy was wearing a golden suit most likely made out of dream sand and Tooth had a long violet gown with thin straps and slit on the front. Everyone's ceremonial outfit had the Guardian's emblem on the back. Tooth was right away circulating over Jack wanting to see how his teeth fit together with his outfit but was able to stop herself when North suggested that they take a group picture before the guests arrive. Jack was a bit reluctant at first but agreed to it in the end. One of the yetis took North's camera and the Guardians took up a position standing close to each other.
"Say teeth!", Tooth called out. They all laughed at that as the flash of the camera captured that moment. Jack smiled at his friends and thought that maybe this wouldn't be so bad and decided to go get the shoes.
Right after Jack had put the shoes on he face palmed, but smiled.
"I better hide these after this.", he thought aloud to himself and returned to the main hall were everyone else was now standing in a perfect line and Jack took his place next to bunny.
"So, what's Mother Earth like?", Jack asks, curious to know about her. She is the Mother Earth after all.
"Don't know.", Tooth answers and Sandy shakes his shoulders.
"Don't know?", Jack raised a brow.
"Never met her before this.", Bunny explains.
"She's powerful, but mysterious. Kind of like she's not there, but still always there.", Tooth thinks out loud.
"And she's more ancient than Pitch.", North adds.
"So she's a strong suspicious old lady?", Jack sums up leaning on his staff.
"Perhaps.", a mature female voice answers from behind and they all turn around to see a tall lady with porcelain pristine face, but gentle eyes that seem to have gone through more and know more than all of them combined. She has a long black and wavy hair and her clothing appears to be one with the nature itself and she has a regal aura around her that make the Guardians unable to say anything.
"Perhaps not. What do you think, Jack Frost?", Mother Earth continues with a small smile on her face.
"Definitely not what I expected.", Jack answers after a short silence.
Mother Earth chuckles lightly. "I'll take that as a compliment." She then floats gracefully to the other side of the Guardians making them turn around as well.
"Ready to greet the new spirits of seasons?", she asks rhetorically.
"Of course and it is an honor to meet you as well.", North answers anyway with a surprisingly charming smile. Mother Earth returns the smile before holding her hand out.
"The spirit of Summer, June."
From behind the main door steps forth a slender young maiden with fair skin, round face covered in light freckles, deep blue eyes and long curly and unruly red hair wearing a mix of dark green and ocean blue dress. She walks bravely to them, stops to stand next to Mother Earth and salutes playfully with a wide smile before crossing her arms and starting to scan the room. The Guardians smile back at her before Mother Earth continues.
"The spirit of Autumn, Calan."
This time the one to come is a young boy with a medium length auburn hair and green eyes. Can't really call him short, but he's also quite far from muscular. He is wearing dark green pants, a green tunic that reaches to his mid-thigh, a brown belt, a brown vest-like coat and boots. He's not walking to them as briskly as the spirit of Summer and seems a bit nervous as he's not really meeting the Guardians' eyes even as he stops to stand next to June who puts her hand over his shoulder. The Guardians still smile at him and Bunny whispers to Jack that the girl seems to act more boyish than the boy making Jack chuckle silently and he ends up almost choking on that chuckle when Mother Earth continues and says that the spirit of Winter, Yalda, will be Jack Frost. All of the Guardians stare at Mother Earth with their mouths open (including Jack). Then they look at Jack for a short while before looking back at Mother Earth.
"Could you repeat that 'cause I think we just hallucinated. It sounded like you introduced Jack as the seasonal spirit of Winter.", Bunny is the first one to speak.
"I did.", Mother Earth answers shortly.
"But he..I mean..", Tooth starts but doesn't know what to say.
"Could you explain miss Earth?", North requests calmly.
"There's not much to explain. Jack Frost is already a spirit of winter. Man in the moon saw no reason to create another one since he does such a splendid job on it now that he's a Guardian."
"He said that about me?", Jack interrupts.
"Yes.", Mother Earth nods.
Jack can't help but smile since Manny had complimented him.
"I'm glad to be trusted by Man in the moon, but..I ain't gonna take that name if I accept his task."
Everyone bursts out laughing. Even Mother Earth smiles.
"I think that compromise can be done. Since that is settled, last but not least: the spirit of Spring, Holi." Mother Earth holds out her hand toward the door and the Guardians turn to look at the last season spirit.
"Like the festival of colors?", Jack whispers to Bunny who smiles at his comment.
"Mayby she's covered in paint.", Bunny whispers back making Jack chuckle again but when she steps forward, Jack drops his staff to the ground and he could swear his heart stopped for a while before starting to beat loudly in his ears. He feels a lump in his throat making him unable to utter a word. Fair skin with light freckles on her face and rosy cheeks. Large green eyes and pink lips curled into a playful smile. Beautiful long golden blonde hair and a purple dress with long pink sleeves and lavender bodice. Jack would recognize her anywhere, anytime, but is it really possible. Oh how many times has Jack dreamed, wished, that he could see her again and not only in his dreams or memories. Memories that he has cherished for so long and hold deep inside his heart where there would always be a place for her. And now she is in front of him. Walks toward him smiling the same way he remembers she used smile. Jack can feel the tears form in the corner of his eyes, but he could care less. It's like he doesn't see, hear or feel anything else. Only her. Only Rapunzel.
