Description
"Sans! Come on, get up! I think something is wrong with the little human!"Sans groaned, but obeyed nonetheless.
"What's wrong with Frisk, Paps?"
"I don't know! Their stomach keeps making strange noises!"
"They're probably just hungry. Hold on, I'll get up and get some food for it."
"...Alright."
Papyrus's footsteps echoed through the hall as he went to retrieve the little child.
Sans slowly sat up, grunting as his bones made a sickening popping noise.
After stretching a bit and putting on some decent clothes, he walked downstairs.
Frisk looked up at him and smiled.
"Heya, kiddo. How did you sleep on your first night?"
"Was sleepy. Slept really good!"
"Good to hear."
Sans walked to the kitchen and opened the refrigerator.
"What do you want, kiddo?"
"Want...?"
"Like, food. Y'know, if you're hungry that is."
"Food! Yes! Want..."
Frisk stopped and tilted their head.
"I have choice?"
Sans flinched at that.
Just what has this child gone through?
"Ice cubes, please."
"Ice cubes...?"
"Food...right?"
"..."
Sans shook his head.
"...No. You're gonna have some real food while you're here with us. Paps, you feel up to cooking this morning?"
"Sure! What do you have in mind?"
"...Pancakes. I want this child to have something to give them some energy and to fill them up."
"Got it! How about you hang out with them while I get started~?"
"...Sure."
Sans sat down a fair distance away from the child, watching it with caution.
Frisk began to play with the necklace around its neck, giggling when it heard the jingling of the chain.
Frisk then looked up at Sans with the most innocent eyes he had ever seen.
It was a warm chocolate brown, trusting and kind...
And filled with determination.
Sans felt a sudden pull from his soul.
His very heart melted at the sight of this child, filthy and abandoned...
"... Uncle Sans...?"
"...Yeah, kid?"
"Why are you crying?"
"What?"
Sans reached for his cheekbones, trailing his fingers across the surface. When he pulled his hand away, he examined his fingers and was surprised to find cyan blue tears.
"I...I don't know..."
Frisk crawled over and hugged him tightly.
"Please don't cry, Uncle Sans... I want smiles."
Sans tenderly held the child in his arms, surprised to find himself wanting to protect it.
Why was he crying?
Sans suddenly realized what it was.
This child... Frisk... Was the best thing to ever happen to him aside from his brother.
It brought happiness, something Sans had forgotten.
To see them in pain, or so lonely... Filled his very being with sadness.
But why? Why did he care so much about someone else? They weren't related to him. Heck, they weren't even a monster!
Frisk muttered the words to Sans right as Papyrus came into the room once more.
"I love you, Uncle Sans..."
Papyrus gaped at the child before slowly turning to his brother.
Sans smiled and rubbed the child's back in a comforting manner.
"Yeah, I love you too, kid."
There was no hesitation in what he said.
He then cleared his non-existent throat and stood up, putting Frisk on the ground carefully.
"Papyrus, is the food ready?"
"Yes."
"Alright, kiddo. Let's go get you some food."
Papyrus picked up the child and placed them in one of the chairs. He put a plate of pancakes in front of them, with butter, syrup, and a small amount of sugar.
Frisk tilted their head and sniffed it.
Papyrus chuckled and cut the pancakes for them, with amusement twinkling in his sockets.
Frisk was watching with interest at how the skeleton managed to cut the soft circle.
Papyrus stabbed a piece with the fork and held it up to Frisk's mouth.
"Here, try it~!"
Frisk looked at Sans, as if looking for approval to eat.
Sans nodded gently.
Frisk took a tiny bite.
Their eyes immediately lit up, and they ate the rest of the piece immediately after.
"What do you think, human?"
"It's yummy! I can have more...?"
"Of course! You can have as much as your belly can take!"
"Yay!"
Frisk took the fork and began to slowly eat the rest of the food, savoring each mouthful.
Papyrus fixed his own plate and fixed one for Sans.
Sans took it gratefully and began to eat at a leisurely pace, Papyrus following soon after.
As soon as Sans finished, he stood up and put his dish away, muttering a quiet 'thank you'.
He headed for the door and picked up his crowbar on the way.
Frisk looked up at him and tilted their head.
"Where you going?"
With a soft yet gruff voice, Sans grumbled back.
"I'm going to work."

Merchant's log: part 2
even though the 2 bone bros, now known to me as sans and papyrus, were rough in the bar since i pointed the code to them and thought they were dead, they let it slide with the fact i can make incredible weapons!
plus, my workshop was moible, so their hospitality was fine by me
although they would be the testers for some of my latest work, papy said the laser minigun was shaking him and sans had a rough time aiming the ka-BOOM, it went smashing!
