Silence. Silence. Silence. Buzzing.
Your eyes opened to a strangely familiar lab. Alphys walked toward you.
"(Name)! Y-you're awake! How d-do you like your new body?"
New body?
You looked down and squeaked at what you saw. You looked almost like a Vocaloid! With a (favorite color) costume which consisted of shorts and a shirt that showed a bit of your robotic belly and (favorite kind of shoes).
"It would be best if you stayed with another robot for a while... To get you used to your new body."
She turned to the doorway and called.
"Mettaton! They're ready!"
Sure enough, the feminine-looking man-bot came into your vision.
"Why hello there, gorgeous~!"
He kneeled and gently took your hand, kissing the top of it.
"As I'm sure you have heard, I am Mettaton!"
"Um... I hate to be rude, sir, but the first time I heard your name was when Alphys called for you."
Mettaton looked up at you in shock, and Alphys muffled a laugh.
"Mettaton, their old body doesn't retain all their memories. All they know is their name and me, since I created the body. They wouldn't remember you."
Mettaton looked down, seeming rejected.
"Oh..."
Something about the way he said 'oh' triggered some kind of memory.
You looked up with confidence.
"Oh! I know you!"
Mettaton looked up with hope.
"Do you?!"
"Yep! You're Napstablook!"
Mettaton sighed and facepalmed as Alphys finally lost it and laughed.
"Mettaton, perhaps their memory will come back in time. For now, why don't you show them some things?"
"Sure thing, Alphys. Come on (name). Make sure you stay close to me so I can protect you."
He winked, causing a strange sensation to rise to your face.
A (favorite color) glow was rising to your face.
Mettaton chuckled and took your hand, walking away. You stumbled a bit at first, but with Mettaton's help and encouragement, you managed to walk. Soon enough, you didn't have to hold his hand anymore!
He let go, but you quickly took his hand again.
He turned and gave you a quizzical look.
You looked down.
"I don't know why, but... I feel safer when I'm next to you."
Mettaton smiled and gripped your hand a little tighter as a form of assurance.
After a while, you both came to a room with a small stage in it. Mettaton smiled and walked up on the stage, still holding your hand.
He grabbed both of the mics and handed one to you.
"Let's see if you remember this song..."
Mettaton began to sing (favorite duet), looking at you.
During his part, you remembered something.
A long time ago, before you had your robot body, there was this cute pink ghost who loved to sing with you.
This song was his favorite too...
You sang along, feeling your lost confidence return to you.
Afterwards you smiled and called him that old familiar nickname.
"You have quite a beautiful voice, Tonton."
"You remember me!"
Before you knew it, he was showering your face with little kisses.
"I knew you would remember me (name) I just knew it!"
"I love you, Tonton."
"I love you too, (name)."
