(y/n) felt fear run through her veins. She was on a special assignment. Depending on what country you studied, you had a chance to meet that country. There was one winner chosen to meet each country. She was the only one who chose to study Russia. Now, she regretted it. “Come on (y/n). You only need to ask him about the fall of the Soviet Union!”. With that, she went inside. “Um…Hello?”. “Hi.”. “Is…Is this Russia?”. Russia walked out of the shadows and she jumped at his height.
She was trembling in complete and utter terror. Russia frowned at her. “You seem scared, da?”. She ignored it and asked the question. “Can you describe the fall of the Soviet Union?”. “Kolkolkolkol…”. Most of the time, it would be scary to hear that because his face would look cruel.
But his face looked… sad. He eventually stopped and sighed. “Sorry… But since I am Russia, I lost my family then…”. He looked down and (y/n) swore she saw a lone tear slide down his cheek. She couldn’t take it anymore. She wanted to hug him. But she was scared… She then noticed that he was scared too. She did it.
She ran to him and hugged him tightly. “I’m so sorry, Russia. Please… Don’t cry.”. She was quite surprised to find herself crying too. “Why is it that when I cry, you do too…?”. (y/n) sniffed. “Because, Russia… No one deserves to be alone.”.
Russia seemed to be touched by her words. “No one has ever been so kind to me before…”. “I have never met someone as sweet as you..”. “Same to you”. It was a nice, however small, conversation with the quite large country, and (y/n) was happy to find her fear ebbing away.
