Description
A small thud woke you up. After climbing out of bed, you yawned and stretched, heading for the door.
When you opened it, you couldn’t help but laugh at what you saw. A large tea kettle had landed on Asgore’s head! The cabinet door above him was gently swaying back and forth, as if it was laughing at him.
Upon removing this little ‘hat’ of his, he saw you and frowned a bit.
“I’m sorry if I woke you, my chi-”
“Pffftthahahahahahahahahahaha!”
You couldn’t take it anymore, it was just too funny! He sat there, holding the tea kettle, looking all dejected and embarrassed. Asgore couldn’t help but smile as well. He seemed glad that he made you laugh.
“Well, the tea is ready, my child. I had gone out to get come fresh ingredients. When I came back, I was quite surprised to find you asleep! You must have been exhausted.”
That explained what took him so long to fix the tea.
You smiled and sat at the table watching in awe as he brought in two cups of tea. One was clearly bigger than the other.
He put the smaller one in front of you.
“I hope you like it, my child.”
You giggled and took a sip. It tasted incredible! It had so many unique flavors… It seemed like something that would win a contest back on the surface!

“...Can I ask you a question…?”
“Of course my child! What is it you want?”
“How do I get out of the Underground?”
“...”
Asgore stood up and had an astonishingly serious face.
“You can’t leave this place. It is for your own good. If you leave this place, surely you’ll be killed… Toriel will find you.”
“Who is Toriel?”
“She is the Queen of the Underground; Queen of Monsters. She has six of the seven human souls needed to break the barrier and escape from here. In the war of humans vs. monsters, we lost and were sealed down here. If Toriel finds you, she will most certainly harvest your soul… I am keeping you here for your own good, okay?”
“... No. I’m sorry, but I need to get out of here. Please Asgore, let me go.”
“... Wait here for a moment.”
He began to walk away.
“W-where are you going?”
“To the exit of the Ruins. I’m going to destroy it.”

But he was already gone, and he locked the entrance to the underground tunnel.
“Now what do I do…?”
Suddenly, a voice reached your ears.
“...Do you need help?”
A little pink ghost floated over to you and smiled gently.
“Who are you, little guy?”
“I’m Happstablook. I saw how kind you were, and I was thinking… If anyone could change the Queen, it would be you. I’ll help you. In return… please don’t die.”
Happstablook floated through the door and a small click sounded.
“It should be unlocked now~! Come on, you can do it!”
You opened the door and smiled at the little ghost.
“Thank you, Happstablook. You’ll see, I will save you all somehow.”
You gently kissed the ghost on the head and began to chase after Asgore.

There he was, at the entrance to the rest of the Underground.
“Asgore, please! I can save you all if you just let me!”
Asgore turned around and frowned at you.
“The other six children promised the same thing… and they are no longer with us.”
You nodded solemnly.
“I know, Asgore. But you can count on me. I promise.”
“What makes you think you won’t die?”
You paused.
You couldn’t quite explain it, but you tried anyway.
“I have this feeling… of determination. Like I can’t lose. Like if I die, I can try again.”
Asgore shook his head.
“I’m sorry, my child. But I will not let you go.”
Something in your eyes must have moved him somehow. He sighed.
“... Prove to me that you are strong enough to survive. Then I will let you go.”
