In a world devastated by war, nature and magic have been replaced by metal cities, unnatural laws, and forced beliefs. Crane, a heartless young man, took advantage of the war's aftermath to rebuild the world in his own image. The once lush landscapes are now covered in towering metal buildings and polluted with toxic waste. Crane controls the remaining inhabitants and destroys all books, fearing their influence on people's imagination and beliefs. He dictates every aspect of their lives, eliminating those he deems unworthy or troublesome. Free will and choice are foreign concepts. As time passes, people lose their humanity, embracing technology and genetic manipulation. However, a girl named Story defies the rules by learning to read and write. Through her writings, we glimpse a world that has lost touch with its past and the hope she brings to others by documenting their history.

This tale takes place in a different world. In another realm. A realm where once there was nature, magic, and faith. Now all that is left is metal cities, unnatural laws, and forced beliefs. This once paradise of a world was forever changed by a grand war. No one knows how the war started, but everyone knows that eventually the war spread throughout the whole earth until it completely destroyed nature.
In fact, the war only stopped after the last forest was bombed. A cruel and heartless young man by the name of Crane took this opportunity to rebuild the world and conquer it until it became his image. The now barren lands were covered with shiny metal buildings taller than ten of earth’s skyscrapers. The rivers and ocean became the dumping grounds of any and all toxic waste. Instead of clouds and fresh air, smog and toxic fumes fueled the skies...
