Headcanon: It was a tradition for Gai’s students to take a nap together on sunny days after a hard day of training. They usually chose a hill covered in lawn near the training fields and enjoy the weather.
After Neji’s death, Lee and TenTen continued training together but it was impossible for them to take a nap. Even with their eyes close they could feel something important was missing. Eventually, they stopped trying.
Everything changed once Metal grew and joined their training sessions. Team Gai had a third member again, and so, the naps on the lawn returned.
