Darrion: Oh dear...Orsin: *coughs, looking away* the smell...
Tristan: Ira...Babe...*looks over at her, biting his lip* I think...I think this one...
Cana: Fucking shat himself! That's so fucking gross!
Ira: *lifts the club over her shoulder* I was only giving a mild threat! Have some dignity! Tch!

So, Ira ended up looking more Disgusted and irritated than the weirded out expression. But to be fair, it's Ira who probably would be annoyed at being weirded out. She is holding her massive kanabo club in this and I really like how this came out. Spent way too much time on it though; ended up being more of a full portrait than a warm up so if I do these again, expect a little less shading (though I'll still do flats).

This character is really intriguing – I'm not familiar with her (She's an OC, right?), but that's kind of okay because the way you drew her made me immediately stop and think, “Okay, I need to get to know this woman.” I think you did capture the “weirded out” emotion, it's just that maybe the character's general reaction to being weirded out is to be aggressive toward the thing weirding her out. Like, if she made that look toward me, I'd think she thought I was being weird and that I should stop doing whatever it was I was doing pretty damn quickly. So..an angry weirded out. That's a longwinded way of saying I think you got the expression right.
Everything in the picture generally fits the style, as far as size and proportions go. The only hitch I think I see is in her right shoulder – it strikes me as being a bit too big/too far forward to match the angle of the collar of her jacket. I think it'd seem more natural if her hand was closer to her neck/jaw area, and maybe a touch lower. Almost so that the bottom line of the club and the top line of her breasts were almost in line. Then you could also add a bit more wrinkling to her jacket collar to give the iumpression of her hand and club really having some weight to them.
I love how you drew her eyes and brows – to me, they always make or break and expression. And her mouth is pretty spot-on, too. Her hair is kind of cool, and I think you highlighted it well to give the wild characteristic it seems to have. That carries over pretty well into the spikes on the club, though I think some of them should have more of a rotation toward the viewer – the top row is fine, but the second and third would look better, I think, if they were foreshortened a bit to look as though the viewer was seeing more of the tip than he/she is with the first row of spikes.
The shirt is also well done, and that sort of clothing can be tricky with all of its ruffles and shadows.
I really like your style over all – It conveys a lot of emotion and personality without being difficult to read. I'd imagine that lets you have a lot of fun with the characters you're drawing.

Wow! That is a nice constructive, awesome comment! Thanks! I'm glad you think I got her expression right and I'm especially happy to hear that you wanted to know more about her! She's an OC that is my version of Wrath and she typically fits the bill. I agree with foreshortening the spikes on the club and the suggestions you made on her shoulder and hand. Her hand was added a little last minute, same with the club since this expression worked well with it so I didn't place them exactly right. Something I'll need to think about next time.

Hehe I have a whole crime family based on the sins! Wrath and Lust are the two I tend to draw a lot of (planning on making a series of short stories on them using writing prompts) but Gluttony and Sloth are quite fun to draw as well. I need to practice more on Pride; maybe do a portrait of him since I always draw him with a hat and he has hair.

I love how you projected her emotion of disgust into the piece, i thnk her face shows it perfectly well. Two things i would have to critique on would be the colour and shadows. Let's take that white shirt for example, although it is white, it's not exactly good to make it completely white, it's best to start off with a darker shade and then put light where it's absolutely nessecary. Since that there is a layer on top of her shirt, making shadows from her jacket blocking the light would create more depth. Now for the colour, this might just be from my personal preference (you don't need to listen to this one if you feel that way) is the vibrancy. It's best to add a bit of a suttle colour in with the mix, for example with the skin, it would be best to start of with a more greyish middle tone and then colour with that nice yellow highliht and brown shadow. I do love this work though~ good job!😊

Hehe thanks! I do agree with the white shirt; I should've colored it darker than put white when needed. The hue tip is interesting! I'll have to try that out sometime!

Orsin is the big guy: a door needs to be broken and used as a shield (like in Luke Cage), hes' your man. Need one massive guy to look intimidating (with his mask of course), he is your guy. He just hates it though; he is really just too nice but also loyal to his sister.
Oh yes, feel bad for Tristan; there is nothing I can excuse for what Ira did to him. Ira is just so complicated. She's not evil for the sake of evil, but her ideas on loyalty, love, power, etc make her charismatic and terrifying. I need to write some short stories here sometime. Help me flesh out my crazy characters a bit more too!

I pretty much enjoy how he is the nice guy that still complies to the "evil" around him. Gives for a nice character, and also balances out the dynamic a lot in pieces/dialogues he appears.
As for Tristan and Ira, I can pretty much say that my interest grows as their own characters and relationship show to be far more complex than originally seemed to be. It makes for character more compeling and more likeable too! I'd be nice reading more, yes

Orsin and Ira came from a very hard childhood in a War torn country and Ira protected him, shielded him, sacrificed her arm and one may argue her sanity for him. I would not be surprised that he complies because he feels responsible for how utterly screwed she became. It's not his fault, but guilt is a big motivator and if there is no one to balance her our, how much worse would she be?
Hehe thanks! Oh that's gonna be fun. Tristan and Ira have a decidedly NOT healthy but complex relationship. It's kinda why I am working on a piece with Orsin and Sybil to have a good counter point. Orsin and Sybil have a much more normal, gentle, modern-courtship relationship. It's sweet and I need to finish it

Ooh, that's a great backstory too! Thank you for taking time to tell me, Coda. Ira gets more and more interesting, but seeing Orsin with Sybil will certainly enrich the experience of the characters so far. Something sweet to counterpart the disfunction, but that also complies to it. Very nice.
