It is one of the weirdest facts of the Expanding Space Universe that, even though controlled human evolution permits genetic engineers to alter human stock to fit colonial home worlds - thus we can technically MAKE aliens - and a limited degree of uplifting has allowed humankind to bestow sentience upon certain creatures, we are yet to find an advanced alien civilization in the Milky Way Galaxy, even after centuries of space exploration and colonization.

So, what is it? A dark forest universe? Unlikely, humankind would have been hit already. Quantum-level incompatibility preventing us from even perceiving aliens and vice versa? Probable, and would explain ancient religious references to djinns, demons and other mythical beings. The ship called Stigmata Synchronous, when it was spotted, was so alien in design that it rang an alarm bell across the human galaxy. It turned out, however, that a futuristic eccentric billionaire had commissioned the star cruiser to Paradise Flight Industries in secret.

The Stigmata Synchronous is a remarkable vessel, fully organic inside and carbon/d-hex polymer outside. It feels soft but firm to the touch, like dolphin skin. The 30-personnel cruiser is a fast one for its class, too, breaking 2032X on the curvature warp, scoring a GE2E (galaxy edge-to-edge, measured in years) value of 52.
