How did you manage to go from gentoo & e17 to ubuntu & gnome so quickly... That would have driven me insane..

Easy... I was still at Beirut at the time, I had to install something on this PC, I had an Ubuntu disc around (not to mention my crappy 128K line), so I installed it, and brought the box with me to Canada, and have left it like that ever since.

Gtk2 theme = GSM.
Transparent panel = hold Alt + Scrollwheel down.

Not quite, but I havent bothered "fixing" this desktop PC (at home) - just a stock Ubuntu install.
