Description
A character for an original story that you can follow the progress of here.Mönkhbat (Batu)
Race: Ägurian
Gender: Male
Age: 22 Turns
Birthday: Autumn (exact date unknown)
Place of Birth: Nagûrd
Mönkhbat was born in the small farming hamlet of Nagûrd to two aged parents and one elder sister (Mönkhtsetseg).
Seven years years previous to present day Baras-Ägur, tensions were reaching a boiling point between the Ägurians and the Naran Dynasty regarding a series of nationwide crop failures (and resulting famines) that spanned the better part of a decade. The Narans, having run the country into a financial hole with their ostentatious lifestyle and poor budgeting, had no money to begin repairs on the aqueducts running through the arid steps that were necessary to cultivating the farmlands.
After the death of the People’s Spokesman (in which he was put on trial and convicted of high treason for speaking out about the Narans) Otryadyn Enkhjargal, the Ägurian people revolted, mobbing the streets of the Imperial capital for three days and nights before the Narans were able to quash the uprising.
Soon after the mobs had been contained, the Narans ordered Imperial troops to burn villages and hamlets that Enkhjargal had been especially popular or well-known in; one of these was Nagûrd. Both of Mönkhbat and Mönkhtsetseg’s parents died in the resulting fire.
Enraged, Mönkhbat and his childhood friend Suhe banded together and traveled from town to town over the next year, spreading seeds of dissent and organizing the next uprising; with careful planning, they believed, they could successfully overthrow the arrogant Narans.
During the time, Mönkhbat began to gain renown both for his intense fervor and good looks until he became known as the “face of the Revolution”, a symbol of hope.
The following autumn, the New Revolution launched its attack against the Naran Dynasty. It was a long, bitter battle with a sad ending; finding themselves outmatched, the Narans barricaded the Imperial Palace against attack, confident that their supplies could outlast any siege.
However, that night, the royal family was poisoned by a member of the palace staff.
Coup successful, though not without a heavy toll, Mönkhbat was soon placed on the throne (reluctantly, himself) as the head of a new Dynasty to lead the Ägurian people into a brighter future.
