Sokka just wouldn’t be the same character without a yeet-able weapon, so I gave him a reusable remote-control concussive torpedo.

I also gave him a gun. Because he’s a seal hunter; of course he’d have a gun. If you think scifi AU Sokka should not have a gun, you are not only a wrong but also wrong. He brought it along hoping it would break the plot, but unfortunately it does not; the only three people he would ever attempt to shoot, Zuko, Azula, and S.S.B.M., all wear armor, and he’s too broke to afford a high-enough-caliber weapon to make it through that.

Piandao is probably like a gunslinger who gifts him a semi-auto pistol or something idk.

Sokka’s suit is based on the new Artemis Space Suit that NASA is working on. Except Sokka’s isn’t entered and exited through the back, since he lives on an ice planet and wouldn’t have to worry about dust contamination inside habitats. The vent on the back is part of a heat pump to keep him toasty in sub-arctic conditions.
