Oh man, I can't tell you how much this helps me out - whenever I draw guys, I always wimp out and they just end up lanky. Thanks!

And lots of love for multiple rainbow torsos. As always.

It annoys me that an anatomy book (even those made for artists) NEVER mention things like this. Thanks for this, it's really helpful.

I don't draw guys with big muscles alot (Heck, I don't even draw guys a lot), but this is very helpful. I'll totally be thinking about this now (And complaining about people who don't work out in movies and such having big muscles, lol.)

I also laughed really hard at: This is a guy who fights bears on a mountain.

XD

But the Greek statues ?

Are references of realistic bodies ?

You suggest at this tutorial a muscle gut men is health ?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Katanatata In reply to voulezclan [2013-11-06 16:32:46 +0000 UTC]

The statues are those of heroes and are the origins of the "heroic build," the broad shoulders and thin waist; however, realistically, the Greek boxers were not super cut and they were more pudgy because they relied on heavy body blows. Hell even gladiators had a padding of fat to prevent injury, they did not look like the ones from Spartacus.
