BAHHH!!!!!k there's a lot I dont like about this pic. I fixed a bunch but still doesnt look like the kid is under Josh's jacket so much as a weird head from his chest. *hangs head sigh* oh well.
its been 3 weeks n havent drawn anything for myself because of school/comish/work sooooo this is the first of maybe another string of actually being able to art x__@.
characters are from my comic class story. Might post once its done for class.

Huh, it reminds me alot of the main character and his son from The Road by Cormac McCarthy. Or along the lines of how I envisioned them. But less scruffy.

Just add some stronger shadows on the sides to show that he is under the jacket, that should do it!

Even if the values on some parts of the jacket aren't correct, the emotional value still shows. I like it.

I disagree with you - I like it. I think there needs to be just a liiiittle bit of a darker value along the shadow on the kid's arms and it'll read more like he's under the jacket. What would also help, is if you distinguished his hips/legs apart from Josh's. I hope you post the rest of it when you're done. ^^

i think part of the reason why it doesn't look like he's under the jacket is due to shading. there should shading around the head of the kid and chest area of the man. great doodle though.
