It could have been that Haru might have ended up more like his father, Yugi, if he didn't have Solomon there. Whilst Yugi was an only child and didn't have anyone really to defend him besides Tea growing up (until highschool of course) there for he became submissive and quieter. Haru, on the other hand, though very similar to his dad was much more of a little spitfire. He had a temper despite his small frame, and he wasn't afraid to speak his mind. This evidently lead to him being bullied a fair bit, but he never really became quiet. It could have very much been because he had an older brother to run to. Though Solomon never CONDONED him standing up to those far bigger then him, he never turned him away when Haru needed someone to be there. It should also be noted that even though he was more like Yugi in youth, he began to act more like his mother, Tea later on.________________________________________________________________________
