Diego "Dio" Brando from Steel Ball Run (Part of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.)I knew I wanted to give a shot at coloring this panel, wayyyyy before I ever started reading SBR . . . ("BADASS BATSHIT FABULOUS MOE," indeed!)
Here's how the original scanlated page looked like before I got my grubby little hands on it:

I mostly stayed true to Hirohiko Araki's lines, but I did shift the jaw and change the ear a bit, to better fit my artistic habits . . .
There's a lot more that I could do, but I think I would rather start my own interpretation completely from scratch if I were going to spend more time.
So this was done fairly quickly for fun and education . . .
But I have to say: Oh god, Araki's skill! I'm honored to be alive at the same time as him!

Very good coloring; ur coloring fits his lines extremely well. They're soft enough, but have a good bit of vibrancy. Don't know how I can describe it but u can tell I like it.
And yeah, the dude's a beast. He's definitely the best shonen artist out there. You can see it in pretty much every panel of the JJBA mangas.

I can't stop doing my own interpretations of his panels these days . . . It's like worshipping at the Temple of Araki in my Photoshop. So inspiring!

Ooh, the only thing that would make that temple even more awesome is if Rohan was doing sculptures for it. Apparently he can work faster than any other mangaka (even if sculptures are not manga; I'm sure he has the skill for it x3).

I already knew what was coming kind of . . . I was wondering what it would have been like to read it unaware! Araki's storytelling has really blown me away quite often! I often try to imagine scenes like this animated, or as a movie or something . . .

One time I imagined Johnny and Gyro fighting dio on Horseback while listening to Kotov Syndrome by Rise Against.
If you want to imagine an epic fight sequence then try listening to a few songs by rise against.

Oh! I'm so often overwhelmed by the incredible talent in his art! A lot of his proportions really are photographic . . . I think there's a lot more energy in his work too, since he's producing so much, you know? It's like he's in tune with capturing the essence of something as quick as possible . . . So if I were to try and do an image like this by myself, it would take a couple weeks, but with just his linework it only takes a couple days! He's got all the real magic in just those lines, it's incredible!
