I want to ask if the colors in this are something to do with your northern latitude?
I've looked at many sunsets, and this is very unusual in colors. Gorgeous!!

This was taken about the time of the Iceland volcano eruption in Spring this year - which, altho several hundred miles away, would've affected sunset colours

Yes, that's right - the B&W version was taken with a 200mm zoom from about 15m away: really wouldn't want to get any nearer a treacherous mud gulley like this, fascinating though it appears... Looks like a python & would swallow you up like one as well!
