Oh, hey there Firestar, why so grumpy?
There wasn't a background yesterday...but today I was experimenting and woop wop bam, there's the lake and I threw on a random texture 5 minutes ago.
Sorry...decided to do another chibi/cartoon-ish style drawing today. Just taking a break from the longer projects. Besides...this style is way more fun!
You can pretend this takes place before Firestar is caught in the foxtrap, if you wish. Before the battle between Hawk and Bramble. Or maybe he's leading a patrol. Who knows. I don't.
Yes, the background is very crappy, I know... I was experimenting with water, trees, bushes...that kind of stuff. The trees need some work. And the sand...oh, the sand
I think Firestar turned out okay...originally, he was just plain orange, but then I decided to change his design. So now he's a tabby! I kind of like the design....the smudge tools worked in my favor today, I suppose. Although, the shadows were being total bi-...mousebrains... >.> I wasn't sure if I should have added little highlights like the ones on the ears...I tried it, but didn't like it, so removed it. Maybe next time.
This took me about....eh...4 or 5 on and off days. Like, and two or three hours per day, maybe? Not too long, I suppose. I was working very slowly.
Program: Photoshop CS6, I use the plain old mousepad, so forgive me for wobbly lines, I'm not quite used to it yet. I am saving up for a tablet.
