Description
From Cowboy Bebop... a little older. This is the one I drew and lost.I didn't get it back, I redrew it. This time I drew it closer up because I liked it better.
I think it looks more like Ed than the last one anyway.
Ed Β© Shinichiro Watanabe... I think.

Holy crow, I love this. Ed was always my favorite member of the Bebop crew, and now I get to see an idea of what she could be when she gets a little older. It's beautiful, to say the least. You've managed to make her skin just ever so slightly more of a shade of cocoa while also adding an additional mild tan to it, something which makes her skin utterly pleasing to look at. Her figure? Absolutely gorgeous. Ed no longer looks like a lanky child blooming into adolescence, but a teenage queen ready for a night out. Her eyes? Her hair? Absolutely wonderful. I love the way you've got her wearing what I am surmising are jean shorts. They really show off her figure.
The only thing I am going to offer some very mild criticism on is Ed's chest. Don't get me wrong, it looks very nice under her clothes (and I'm not really a chest person, mind you), but the way her upper clothes display her chest beneath what we can see is slightly disproportionate. It's almost as though her chest is sloping down into her clothes, or something. Otherwise, it is a very nice touch, and just subtle enough so that it isn't the focus OF the pic. Like I said, very nice otherwise.
Congratulations on breathing new life into my favorite hyperactive hacker. I'd hug her if it wasn't for those pirhanna fangs of hers. Welcome to the list.

I appreciate the criticism, but I did draw this six years ago. Here's something I drew more recently .
I should take another crack at this piece some time, though. I'm glad you liked it!

This is a pretty good picture of her, when i first watch Cowboy Bebop i missed out i htink it was episode: 5-8 or something like that so i didn't see when she was introduced. I couldn't tell the gender at first but later on i got that Ed was a girl. Ed's cool and a bit too energetic sometimes also a bit odd but awesome.
Thanks for putting this on devi ima fav it.
Good Job btw. .

You're kidding, right?
Look, not only do they establish that she is a girl in the episode where she joins the Bebop-Faye: Wait, you're a girl?-they establish that in the film. Particularly in the scene where Ed is going door to door with a pumpkin mask and a creepy older man dressed as a woman invites her inside, and then Ed says she is a girl, and the man says, "I have no need for girls!"
The creators of the show did consider making Ed a boy, but they've stated over and over that she is not, in fact, male.
I would refer you to other comments on this image, where I've addressed this already. Also, here's a Wikipedia article about it: [link]
Here's the choice quote, "Originally, Ed's character was based on a description of the series' music director, Yoko Kanno ("a little weird, catlike, but a genius at creating music"), and was first developed as a dark-skinned boy. It was changed to even the gender ratio on the Bebop, which was, with Ed as a boy, three males and one female. The original character design appears in session 5 as a young boy that steals an adult magazine from Annie's bookstore by smuggling it under his shirt."

Yes, she is. Why do so many people not know that? She says it explicitly.
Anyway, I'm also a little surprised people find this sexy. I thought it was just a goofy but slightly more grown up Ed. One that was still busy with gadgets and hacking, and just as oblivious about her body. Not that I'm offended, I realise it's a compliment, but everyone assumes I just wanted to sexualise the character, which upsets some people, which I understand, but I didn't.

they say Ed is 13 ,at that age girls have breast if a little (unles they have an illness or a anatomy disorder) but Ed has NOTHING at ALL an sheΒ΄s an Anime character , but well thatΒ΄s original.

It depends. I've known a lot of women who have no breasts to speak of well into adulthood. Weight and nutrition have a lot to do with it, too, and Ed is a skinny, malnourished child.

OK, first time I've ever thought of Ed as a sexy girl.
That is disturbing. It makes me feel dirty.

People grow up. Besides, she's not doing anything sexual. The only thing that differentiates her from her child self in the show is being older and, oh my god, having breasts, which most women get when they get older, incidentally.
The reason I take offence at your response is that the mentality that it's wrong for women to look sexually mature lays the blame at their feet--for something they can't control--for any inappropriate sexual interest aimed at them. She's dressed more or less as I imagine she would given her personality. I'm not sexualising childhood (which sickens and horrifies me whenever I see it... and there's so damn fucking much of it at Hentai Foundry...) but rather playing with the character's design by imagining her several years older. I was seeing if I could maintain that distinct personality of hers and still change her basic physical appearance.
I draw lots of naughty things--Alice and her anthropomorphic pet cat Dinah together, for example--but never do I sexualise children or adolescence. I have very clear moral boundaries, and you'll find I'm very consistent. Sex should never make anyone feel dirty. It should make us feel good about ourselves and life. When sex is taboo, it becomes a tool of destruction wielded against others and oneself. A mature, naturalistic view of sex and sexuailty is all that will do for me.

It is wrong becuase to me Ed is eternally an 11 year old tomboy who is utterly clueless about anything other than computers. To have her be anything else is akin to looking up and realizing that your little sister is sexy and not knowing when that happened.
Not a bad thing taken in isolation, but creepy taken as a specific.

Oy, to you.
I haven't sexed her up in any exploitive way. She's only incidentally sexy, and even that is a matter of perception.

Is this what you're talking about? [link] It says that she's a girl. "According to the Cowboy Bebop The Movie DVD, the character of Edward was originally meant to be a boy, but at the last minute it was decided to change Edward into a girl in order to better offset the crew of the Bebop."
Also, "Edward is a wacky, computer genius, and master hacker. There is a popular confusion as to Ed's gender (she is a girl). She gave herself her full name (Edward Wong Hau Pepelu Tivrusky IV) after being abandoned at an orphanage by her father." from [link] .
Also, there is a scene in the movie in which Ed is walking down the street in her pumpkin mask talking to people and a cross-dressing man tries to get her to enter his apartment, thinking she is a boy, until she says, "but I'm a girl." and he pulls off her mask and screams at her that he has no use for little girls.
