Description This is a friend of mine,Edenkitty.I chose this because the original image has a black background, and I wanted to see if I could replicate the feel of the piece without using black...plus,she makes such a pretty model!

This would be perfect, but for the one eye being too far out, the one on the side of the binding.

I know Eden in real life, and what I notice about her more than anyone else I know is the shape of her face looks very different from different angles, so that different pictures almost don't look like the same person. The distorion of that one eye gives me the feeling that I'm looking at her from more than one angle at a time, or as if she moved while the image was being made. who knows? Maybe there was something like that subconscious going on when you drew the picture.

If you have photoshop, you can correct little things like this. Go around the eye with the marquay tool, then copy and paste to reposition it. You could also crop the image so you can't see the edges and the binder down the side.

Thats a pretty cool idea, and Ive got to admit it would come in real handy when Im working on an important piece-thanks so much for suggesting it!! The suicide girls portraits are left as they are because it makes it easier for the guy whos been tutoring me, skritch,to get a feel for any mistakes etc that I make, and tell me how to adjust and improve

I am Eden Kitty, and I love this peice! It is very evocative of the original image. Even the color scheme of the image is great! I am just so thrilled to even see a peice made of me.

You must possess a vast amount of color knowledge Most of you artwork catches the eye real quick. The blue is a mysterious yet calming color... Great work as always!

Shorter commentary this time. LOL

Good use of blue as a substitute for black. It really works and give it a definate atmosphere that would have been lacking if you had used black. I want you to notice something. Notice how the red around the lips causes them to stand out? I know this goes against what might be your gut instinct, but, again if it were my piece, I might be tempted to play with a little red tones in and around the eyes. Give them a little more pop.

I moght have also tried to use a little green in the hair and background as a complimentary color. The hair primarily.

Once again, good job. skritch

Interesting you mention the eyes-I had the feeling that there was still something missing there, that they could be a little more 'alive' but I couldnt find a way to make them stand out without taking over too much.I would never have thought of the red,but now you say,I can see in my mind how it could really work. The green would have worked well in the hair too-strange how I went on to put green and blue in Octobers, but just didnt occur to me to put it here! Thank you for commenting again,yr comments are so valuable to me and I get a lot out of them. : )
