and i say i m impressed with the results. i d add a lil clouds and stuff onto the horizon line buts thats just me.

This is one island i'd like to get lost on ~ Faved and good luck with rendering. Some things aren't perfect but nature's not either and you'll get it right sooner or later ~ Cheers!

Woah, pretty good for a first, waaay better than my first was. In the landscape/mountain editor you can crop from either the top down or the bottom up, I normally crop off the bottom so its just resting on the water so that theres not a small portion visable under the water and then a falloff. Unless of course thats the look that you were going for. Anyway Great render for a first. I like it.

The sand and water look a little funny around the island. It looks too wierd. The water kind of looks like there was a big oil spill somewhere. I know that it's supposed to be the reflection of the sunset... But maybe you can turn down the opacity a bit.
