Description
After a lot of thinking, I decided to call quits on the short comic this guy was a part of. You can read the comic plus my reasons here. Still wanted to post the design, though, because I do like it. The feathering is that extensive because I didn't like the divided surfaces I got from a smaller feather coat. It was easier to design something cohesive on a big patch of the sameΒ integument.
He's a 100% made up fantasy theropod with features from more than a few different branches.

I meant who is he related to?

He's just a mix of traits from various theropods, not a speculative creation meant to fit into any particular branches.

A mix of Tyrannosaurs and Carcharodontosaurs or Neovenatorids?

I drew inspiration from Albertosaurus, Deinocheirus, Allosaurus, Carcharodontosaurus, owls and probably a few other things I don't remember off the top of my head.

Looks more like you got the Arms from Megaraptor, another Carnosaur.

Are you sure? Because the arms don't look Ornithomimid to me. Maybe more like that of Megaraptor, or even Marshosaurus.

Yes, I'm sure. A design process is not just cutting and pasting bits 1:1. Multiple animals may be used for one element and then further tweaked to fit the particular design.

Oh I love this design, the patterns are very lovely and I really like the feather distribution as well. It's a shame you didn't finish the comic though...

Thanks a lot! I'm quite fond of how he turned out, myself. And hey, even if the comic's not getting off the ground, I still have this design and may be able to use it for something in the future!

I hope you do, the design is simply too awesome not to use.
