Finally finished this one, it dragged around the drawing table for awhile. This is a commission and was a lot of fun to do. I hope I did the model justice. I've always liked mustangs.As always, comments are welcomed and appreciated. Remember to be kind to the model.

I'm a Mustang fanatic and I gotta say you nailed it. Maybe I'm biased because I'm hoping to upgrade from the '09 to this model, and this same color. Still, you really captured it. I could stare at this all day.

Yes it is. It's drawn on the smooth side of Mi-Teintes paper first in pencil then colored in with design markers then gone over with colored pencil and gouache for highlights. These are pretty work intensive but a lot of fun to do. Size works out to about 13x19 or so.

I love the way you shaded and especially highlighted this picture. Highlighting is something I am still having some trouble with - when some parts need to stay white I just wont draw on them... Though you talked about gouache, I just googled it - It seems to be some kind of special water color?

Yeah, basically a thicker water-based paint. The beauty is you can get different effects depending on how thick/thin you make the gouache. I find decent highlights really help sell the "illusion" of the artwork.

I like the composition with the car filling the picture plane at an interesting angle.
Your proportions are close, and you did a fine job on the foreshortening. You did a really good job of capturing the lines and character of the Mustang GT.
You have a good range of values here with excellent contrast. And good use of value changes to show the planes and contours of the body. I think you did the model justice just fine.
It's an excellent piece of work!
