Fairly close to antelope. I think it is about 100 miles northwest of antelope canyon. Thanks a lot!

Yes all of that area Antelope the Zebra Moab ..even parts of Zion Bryce and Monument ....or Window Rock El Morro near Grants NM , and Bandolier I am in the Northeast now but lived 17 yrs in the southwest..back and forth between Santa Fe Scottsdale and Tucson when I was showing my work in galleries. I also spent quite a bit of time at Sedona, and White River Indian Reservation...but they did not have the beautiful sandstone formations as do Northern AZ and northern NM and Southern UT

I cant wait to go back. I love it down there. Some of the most beautifull country I have ever seen. You are fortunate to have spent a lot of time down there.

yes i do too and the air smells heavenly after a rain shower of monsoon with the smell of the damp kreosote / mesquite bush as it warms up and dries out and permeates the air

God I want to be down there during the monoons. I am always down there during the late fall and early spring. I love thunderstorms. If I could get down there during the monsoon season I would be extatic. Till then I can just look at the satellite weather maps in envy.

Well sadly the summer I left Arizona a group of hikers perished when heavy rains 20 miles north made flash flooding through the Antelope and they washed away to their death...One has to be very weather conscious when going into any of those slot canyons

Thats sad. I hear that very distant storms can have an effect on the slots. Deadly but also intriguing.

yes its the rains and the violent floods that have so sculpted those canyons and embellished the striation marks in the sandstone
