Welcome to the grounds of Colliding Stars Stable!!

Colliding Stars Stable it located in western Colorado, East of the Rocky Mountains. The stable itself is surrounded by rolling hills and forest, and in the west are the West Hills and beyond that are the towering Rockies. The tempurature varies from over 100 to 0, talking in extremes of course. During the spring and summer on stable grounds you'll find a series of purple and white wildflowers. And all throughout the year wildlife come and go as they please. The most common fauna at CSS, besides the horses, are deer, chipmunks, squirrels, black bears, raccoons, rabbits, hawks and other birds. If your lucky you may come across a Bald Eagle, Lynx, or a Cougar. There is also rumored to be a wolf pack in the area. In the Fall the trees turn red and gold, making it a beautiful sight. The winter is harsh and cold, often with heavy snowfall. There is usually same amount of snow on the grounds during the winter.

Main Stable

The large and spacious stable can hold 30 horses at a time. It also has two designated birthing stalls for mares in labor.
In the front of the stable you see a decorative garden and a statue of CSS Warren, the stables prized horse. to the right there are flagstone paths bordered by blue and yellow flowers leading to the arenas, and go past the Big House.

Guest Stables

The guest stables hold up to 30 horses at a time as well, but the stalls are smaller, and they are used for when visitors come from other stables or when competitions are held at CSS.

Indoor Arenas

Indoor arenas for competitions and training. The outside of the buildings are brick while the inside has dark wooden features. The wood goes halfway up the wall, and the other half is painted an off-white. The arena is sand, light in color.

Outside Arena

If the weather permits CSS will use their outdoor arena for training or competitions. It is surrounded by a white fence, and the arena is dirt.

Race Track

The race track at CSS is used for races and training their flat racers. It has both a dirt and turf, and on the inside of the turf are a few decorative evergreens, shrubs and two water features. In the middle of this is the results board. Also the turf track can be converted for steeple chase.

Round Pens

Used for breaking a horse, lunging, etc. White fence and dirt.

The Big House

The Big House, or simply the house, is where all of the staff members live. It is a mansion, three stories high and nearly 7,000 square feet of floor space. It is certianly a grand house, built of brick which makes it nice and warm in the harsh winter and cool in the summer. It's fixed with central heating and AC also. When CSS holds competitions all guests will stay in the many bedrooms on the 3rd and 2nd floors. In the front of the house is a garden and a covered deck, though this is just for show. In the back is where the real fun happens. In the backyard there is a 30 by 15 foot in-ground pool and another deck. Party time CSS!

The Stallions and Geldings Pastures

Stallions can get rough, because that's what boys do. So we split up the pasture so in case any stallions are unfriendly we can move them with out the trouble. Stardust creak goes through the northern pasture.

Warrens Pasture

CSS Warren, Angela's beloved stallion, has created quite a family for himself. He found himself a mate and has 3 foals. Angela decided to give her boy a pasture all to himself and his family. In the pasture are CSS Warren, Fallacy, The Half Blood Prince, Heartless Soldier, and Bellezza Mortale. Stardust creek goes through this pasture as well.

Guest Pastures

For guests to leave there horses if the weather permits. The eastern pasture has the Creek flowing through it.

Psycho's Pasture

CSS is home to one of the worlds deadliest horse breeds, The Disturbed Nightmare. CSS Psycho is a DN mare, hundreds of years old, and being the old lady she is she can be quite nasty. We let her have her own pasture for her own safety, and ours. Because of her need for souls to hunt, she jumps the fence and heads into the West Hill woods for some tasty souls. She always returns for her hunger for the special candy Angela makes for her.

Stardust Creek and Stardust Lake

Stardust Creek comes from the West Hills, presumably originating form the Rocky Mountains. It flows east, emptying into a small Lake, called Stardust Lake. Apparently when this lake was founded, there was a meteor shower in the sky that night, and thus it was named Stardust Lake.
The creek is 9 feet wide and usually between 2 and 3 feet deep. The bottom is sandy and muddy, no danger for horses to slip and fall. For some horses they can jump over it, but for other horses and foals it is safe for them to swim through it because it flows at a slow speed. Once you get closer to the lake, it starts to deepen.
The lake is home to a few select fish, frogs, snakes, and the occasional snapping turtle. The water is not very clear, but yet not murky. The lake is shallow, no more then 10 feet deep and it is surrounded by light sandy beaches. The lake has a worn but stable dock, and a small boathouse with a boat inside.

Cross Country Course

This course is used for competitions and training. At one point you need to cross the creek. The crossing point is a mixture of sand and grass, and the water will vary between 3-4 feet.

Trail Leading to the West Hills

The West Hills is mainly used for pleasure riding, or serious endurance training and exercise, depending where you are in the Hills. This trail leads you to the West Hills.
